Healing Inspiration

Dear Lord,
In my illness, I know how important my doctor is to me. Thank you for him, for his kindly spirit and his competence. Do not let him become tired and worn by his many responsibilities. Grant to heal me and all of his patients. Keep our good doctor in your loving care.

Cancer Is So limited

Cancer is so limited...

It cannot cripple love

It cannot shatter hope

It cannot corrode faith

It cannot eat away peace

It cannot kill friendship

It cannot shut out memories

It cannot reduce eternal life

It cannot quence the Spirit

It cannot lessen the power of the resurrection.

Serenity Prayer

God, Grant me the serenity

To accept the things I can not change,

The courage to change the things I can,

And the wisdom to know the difference.

Just Listen

When you ask me to listen,

I will listen to you.

I will not interrupt you.

I will not stop you from saying everything you have to say;

You may not want to hear about my feelings.

I will just listen.

I will not judge you.

I will not tell you that you're right or wrong.

You have your own values.

I will just listen.

I will not force my advice on you.

I will not lead you astray with my "misguided wisdom."

Only you know what you have to do.

I will just listen.

I will not feel sorry for you.

You may not want my pity.

I will not cry for you, but with you, and...

I will just listen.

I will not tell you how you should feel.

You have a right to any and all feelings.

I will not deface your feelings' value.

I will just listen.

I will feel your pain, joy, anger and laughter.

I will try to understand.

Not a single word or feeling will go by without my utmost scrutiny.

I will honestly care.

But most importantly...

I will just listen.
