WAVE Production's Reigning Scream Queen of Beauty

by Gary Whitson (September 1998)

Tina Krause is fast becoming the Scream Queen of the Year. Starring in three of WAVE's most recent releases, Strangled 5: The Hypnotic Murders, The Archer Part 2, and Dungeon of Death 2, she's also found time to appear in three of EI's productions, The Strangled Wife, A Vampire's Seduction, and The Chloroformed and Cloned Co-ed. A Vampire's Seduction is going "sell-through" to video stores and other outlets. And Tina appeared in a photo layout in Scream Queens Illustrated in May. Who is this young actress that has horrordom in such a tizzy? Where did she come from?

Tina was discovered at the spring Chiller Convention at the Rothman Center in North Jersey in 1994. As she walked past the W.A.V.E. table, she was flagged down by Sal and asked if she wanted to be in the movies. She said yes, and just like that, she had her first part in Fatal Delusion, a video in which she eventually played 3 different rolls. She and Sal went outside and she was killed off right then and there. A couple weeks later, Tina ventured down to the W.A.V.E. studios where she was interviewed for Splatter Chatter #1 and shot 3 different death scenes for Hung Jury, Fatal Delusion, and Night Stalker.

But Tina is more than just an actress. She's an artist who sculps, designs video covers, web pages, and more. "I went to the School of Visual Arts. Amazing, huh?" laughed Tina. "Yea, I went to school. I did that. And believe it or not I actually ended up working in my field where as most people don't. Even now, I still work as a graphic designer even though I'm doing films. It's pretty hard. I work a lot of late hours and spend all my vacation time doing movies." Utilizing her talents, Tina has done two of WAVE's covers: Bloody Creek and Dead North. She's also written scripts, one of which WAVE will be producing this summer: And she's done make-up on such movies as Sorority Slaughter, Rana, and The Agreement.

And Tina hasn't just appeared in WAVE and EI movies either. She had a role in the as yet released Strawberry Estates produced by Ron Bonk of the Salt City Productions. Shared Tina, "I play a girl who is very naive. I'm one of the students that goes on this paranormal investigation, and surprisingly I survive. It's not a bit part either. It's a pretty damn long part. I don't want to say I star in it but it's definitely a large part." She was also in Depraved with JJ North and appeared in Bloodletting starring James Edwards and Ariauna Albright. Just released was Evil Streets, a trilogy of tales in which she appears in the second part, playing a mysterious woman who is the object of one man's obsession, and Tina has a cameo in the new Psycho Sisters produced by EI.

Since the spring of '94, Tina's appeared in numerous WAVE and EI productions including Sorority Slaughter 1 & 2 as the kindly Kim in Part 1 and the killer, Kim in Part 2, Virgin Sacrifices in which she's killed by living mud, the original Psycho Sisters in which she plays the sister who is raped and murdered, Zombie Holocaust (renamed Female Mercenaries on Zombie Island) in which she plays the heroine who defeats the evil doctor in a sexy fight to the death in a stream, Rana: Queen of the Amazon in which she plays the evil Nazi, Ilsa Von Todd, Trapped Part 3 in which she plays a lawyer who finds herself hanging upside by her ankles and helpless before the psycho killer, The Agreement in which she plays one of three hookers, Danger In Blue in which she plays a cop captured by two killers, Curse of the Swamp Creature 2 in which she's stranded on an island with a cannibal, Psycho Charlie Returns Part 1 in which she plays an unfortunate victim, Deadly Sale in which she plays a real estate agent who sells a plot of land on which a hermit lives and who ends ups cooking her on open barbecue, Hung Jury in which she's hogtied and strangled, Strangled 1-5, Deli Hell in which she's cooked alive on a barbecue, Thunder and Lightning 1 & 2 as the less than bright Lightning Girl, Legal Entrapment in which she's drowned in a bathtub using black magic, WAVE's Video Centerfold #1 in which she poses for an upcoming vampire movie as well as other revealing shots, and The Archer Part 1 in which she's shot with an arrow and killed by a psycho hunter. She recently wrapped production on The Archer Part 2, reprising her role of Alex from the Archer Part 1. In the Archer Part 2, she plays a go-go dancer who murders a customer and faces death at the hands of his brother. Archer 2, and the long awaited Dungeon of Death 2, are now available. She will also be appearing in the upcoming Fanny Starr mini-series as twins, Curse of the Incubus, Jungle of Screaming Death, The Hanging Wife, and The Vampire's Curse.

Curious of what Tina considered her favorite role to be, she stumbled for a few moments. "Wow, that's a tough one. I've done so many," she says. "Probably it would be I Am Vengeance. In that one I actually play a freak; it's a cult thing. I play this girl who is just out there. I have fun with nothing, like she could just have fun with a blade of grass. She's totally involved in her own world, and she talks really avant garde. She is really extreme. You wouldn't understand, you'd be like, 'What the hell is going on with her?' And some parts of it make her really fun but you'll also see her lose it. It's really, really evil. And I've got to say, I saw the raw footage of it and I actually was really shocked. I mean, that was raw footage and that means when it's edited it's going to be pretty damn good."

Tina also appears topless on the cover of the limited edition copy of the video, Snuff Perversions, in which she's electrocuted by three terrorists for the W.A.V.E. segment of the movie. Snuff Perversions is the first joint effort among many of horrordom's video makers including W.A.V.E., Dark Fantasy, Marcus Koch, Sinister Sinema, EI, and others.

And, Tina appears in ten minutes of all new footage for the revised version of Zombie Holocaust, now entitled Female Mercenaries on Zombie Island. In new version, fans can learn who she was before the asteroid hit and find out what really happened to her when she was captured by "the doctor" as played by Pamela Sutch. Tina and WAVE will be teaming up this summer on a movie written and directed by Tina. It's an new take on an old theme: vampires. Says Tina, "It's about a lady who denies the fact that she is a vampire and a group of them come after her."

Tina's managed to do all this while, for the most part, holding down a full time job in the graphic arts field. And this is just the beginning. If you wish to contact Tina, you may write her in care of:
