Lots of White Stripes news courtesy of Triple Tremelo.  The new single, 'I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself', has now been confirmed for release on September 1st.  The single will feature exclusive b-sides including a cover of a Dan Miller track 'Who's To Say' and live versions of 'Lafayette Blues' and 'I'm Finding It Harder To Be A Gentleman' plus live video footage of 'Black Math' (as being shown on music channels and XL website now) from the Masonic Temple, Detroit shot earlier this year.

The White Stripes have also been nominated for 4 MTV Video Music awards including Best Group Video and Best Rock Video.  See

Soledad Brothers
just don't stop!  Their White Stripes support dates have been scheduled starting in Denver on Sept 19th and finishing up in Mesa on the 26th.  Click here for more details.
Razorlight have now confirmed their first UK tour, in support of The Hiss.  The Hiss have been confirmed as support to BRMC.  Ah well we're sure BRMC and Razorlight will make up for them. 

Razorlight release their debut single, 'Rock'n'Roll Lies' on August 11th. 
B.R.M.C release their stunning come back single, 'Stop' on August 18th with the eagerly awaited album, 'Take Them On, On Your Own', to follow on the 25th.
The Black Keys are playing The Venue, Edinburgh, on September 2nd (thanks to Ian S.G for the news), as part of a nationwide post-Reading tour.  Dates confirmed so far include The Garage, London, Bristol Louisiana, Wolverhampton Little Civic, Leicester's Charlotte, Liverpool Barfly, and Cardiff Barfly.

The Rapture also look set to do a UK tour in September, with dates confirmed for Manchester, Bristol and London on the 28th, 29th and 30th respectively.  Fingers crossed for a Scottish date.

The Kills
are playing a one-off show at The Astoria in London on October 21st with speical guests The Blueskins
Alfie, who release their superb third album, 'Do You Imagine Things?' on September 15th, have been invited on tour with label mates Athelete.  The 15-date tour kicks off in Brimingham at Academy 2 on October 7th, stops at the Liquid Room in Edinburgh on the 13th and Glasgow's Garage on the 14th and continues finishing up at Sheperds Bush Empire on the 24th.  Click here for full dates and booking info

On a more sour note Peter Doherty has been arressted for robbery.

Peter, who was arrested on Friday night therefore missing the low-key
'Libertines' gig on Saturday, was today given bail until August 11th. 

The remaining
Libertines (Carl, John and Gary) are due to start their second US tour on August 1st. 
Don't think we mentioned it before but as you may now know The Gossip are playing Barfly on August 28th, they also play The Metro in London on August 18th.

Lots more tour news.  Super Furry Animals have added a Scottish show to their UK tour.  They'll play the Glasgow Academy on October 24th. 

Damien Rice plays King Tuts on October 11th, and from the reports we've heard that should be unmissable.  
Longwave are the latest to announce a date at Nice'n'Sleazys, they'll be playing on September 25th.  Their short UK tour also stops at London's Metro (24th), Bristol Club Met (26th) and Bedford Esquires (27th).  After cancelling their previous UK dates due to drummer Mike James' illness they've brought a stand in drummer for these dates. 

Longwave release new single 'Wake Me Up When Its Over' on September 8th. 
The Stands continue their never ending role as support band of choice, they've have been confirmed as support to Shack, playing Edinburgh Liquid Room on October 15th. 

The Stands debute single, 'When This River Rolls Over You'/'She Speaks Of These Things' is released on CD and 7" on Monday August 4th, with the debut album due in September. 
The White Stripes have been forced to pull out of this years Reading and Leeds festivals due to Jacks broken finger.  After his cast was removed doctors discovered the healing wasn't sufficent and Jack had to undergo surgery. 

Mean Fiddler officials have announced that The White Stripes will headline The Carling Weekend 2004 in an attempt to make up for this years disappointment, and have said there will be another act added to this years bill.  See www.nme.com for the full statements issued from both Jack and Mean Fiddler. 
The Primal Scream homecoming show which was recorded in Glasgow earlier in the year is scheduled to be shown on Ch4 on August 11th.

The Von Bondies are back!  Their follow up (proper)to 'Lack Of Communication', 'Pawn Shoppe Heart', is scheduled for a Halloween release in the UK and they plan to tour in support of the first single in September. 

No confirmed dates yet, more info as soon as its released.
The latest on The White Stripes cancellation is that B.R.M.C are rumoured to be stepping to replace The White Stripes at Reading and Leeds.  Ooh thats marvellous news, lets hope this isn't just a rumour.  It'd make perfect sense.

Just read confirmation over at www.nme.com that B.R.M.C are indeed replacing The White Stripes at Reading and Leeds.

Electric Soft Parade have announced a low-key date in Glasgow.

The Libertines are set to re-release their debut album, 'Up The Bracket'. 

The new version of the album, released on September 8th, will include The Libertines' debut single 'What A Waster' and come with a bonus DVD featuring the videos for 'I Get Along', 'Up The Bracket' and 'Time For Heroes'.

The release of the Soledad Brothers' third studio album, 'Voice Of Treason', has been put back until August 11th. 

The album which was due to be release on Monday August 4th was delayed due to an unexpected demand for the album. 

Soledad Brothers are back on British soil for Reading and Leeds festivals and will be touring from August 20th (Leicester Sumo).  Click here for more tour details. 
The Dirtbombs have just put the finishing touches on their third studio album, 'Dangerous Magical Noise', which is coming out on In The Red Records.  There is no release date scheduled yet, but the band start touring in October, with a view to coming to Europe after they've finished their American tour.

The Strokes have exclusively spoken to Rolling Stone about their long-awaited follow up to 'Is This It'.

The 11-track album, which has been given a release date of October 20th, is set to include live favourites 'Ze Newie' and 'Meet Me In The Bathroom'.

With a number one album under their belts, The Coral are going back on the road again in Novemeber, playing their biggest shows to date.

Things are looking worse than ever in the Libertines camp toay as Peter Doherty pleaded guilty to breaking into (former?) bandmate, Carl Barat's flat at his trial at the Horseferry Road Magistrates Court today. 

Peter was accused of stealing an NME Award, a computer, a guitar, a video recorder, a CD player, a laptop, a harmonica and �200 cash.  He admitted to taking all but the NME Award and the cash assuring the court he knew nothing about them.
