Herald was born in August of 1990 at an equestrian studies center in Virginia, the runt of a small litter. His mother died early on (trampled by a skiddish horse), the stable owners felt sorry for what happened and hand fed the kittens until they could handle solid food.
My family was still getting over the loss of a well loved calico, who was an "out-doors" cat. Our neighbor's daughter was taking lessons at the stable and surprised us one night when she came to the back door with the ugliest kitten I'd ever seen! Herald had just turned four weeks old, you could hold him in the palm of your hand, he was that tiny!
But he had stolen our hearts!
Herald never "meowed" when he was a kitten, it was always a tiny "sqeak". It was hilarious. But now he has developed quite a "vocabulary" and amazingly, does not do that 3:00 in the morning yowling bit.
Herald has a very unique cat personality, and it is my hopes that the "personality" I put into the "Herald" gifs allow you to enjoy what I cherish everyday! |
