They say that they are brother and sister though some people say that they are husband and wife. In my view, I couldn't care less, a bit mystery's good. But it is the music that interests most people including myself. They play a selection of music from lo-fi bedroom blues to alternative country. They hail from the Motor City - Detroit. They have 3 albums. Their debut album (The White Stripes Debut) is not their most famous although a lot of people say it should be. The other 2 albums are more famous - 'De Stijl' and 'White Blood Cells'. 'White Blood Cells' is probably the most talked about album by the band. It includes singles, Hotel Yorba, Fell In Love With a Girl and Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground. When hearing them for the first time they don't sound like a 2 man band. I think this is what amazes most people. 'The White Stripes' are named after their favourite candy 'Peppermint Swirl'.
