Hi Everone!  Happy Holidays!!  We've been has busy as ever trying to cram in all that holiday stuff this month.  it's all me of course!  I've been keeping busy making cupcakes, cookies, and candies.  I took part in a holiday bazaar for the Mothers Club (www.eastsidemothersclub.com) and had a really fun time selling my chocolate creations.  I am enjoying it so much, that I am dreaming of becoming a professional someday.  I am going to keep it small doing the little holiday bazaars once or twice a year and really think about it.  I gave away 2 custom cakes to the mothers club auction and had so many nice compliments.  Someone suggested that I sell the cakes, but it is so much work.  Then i got a suggestion to sell 2 cakes per month.  That I can probably do, and might give it a try.  EMC paid me to make the cupcakes for the holiday party and I really had fun.  It was nice to get some money too!

I am also still learning about photography.  My SIL told me I was obsessed.  I really enjoy that hobby too.  I think if I am going to choose something to do as a home-based business it will be photography or candy-making.  I'm still not sure yet as I love them both!  Candy making comes easier for me but I know that to be a real business I will need a commercial kitchen. It's pretty complicated, because it's food...  Anyway, I enjoy it and that's what counts!

Hannah and Heather are soooo very excited this month.  They are practically driving us up the wall.  Heather is getting so big and we can do things more freely.  She is napping about 3 times a week or less, so we can be out and about and not really have to worry.  She sure gets cranky in the evenings!  But she doesn't sleep well at night if she has had a long nap.  So it's been an adjustment for me to get used to dealing with 2 non-nappers.  Heather is so much more needy.  And when Heather does nap, Hannah gets really needy.  I don't blame her.  She needs her mommy time and she has to adjust too.   We had the Dunn Christmas party last Sunday.  Hannah and Heather got lots of fun presents and had a great time hanging out with her cousins, Aunts and Uncles!  They really enjoy their cousins.  Spencer is soo big and so cute.  He runs around like a maniac, just like any other 16 month old!  He does really well with the time change (3 hrs) and is very good natured and happy!

We've been doing a little star (reward) chart with the girls lately.  They've been fighting everything, each other, with me etc.  So we make a little chart and talk about how the day went etc.  They get a frowny face when they haven't done so well.  It really has helped and Dave & I are quite surprised at how much the girls are trying!  Hannah listens much better now and Heather's whining has slowed down a lot.  We know they are just kids and can't be perfect but it was getting really bad.  I think I just needed a chance for us and the girls to reflect on our day and go through the parts of the day that made us proud of them, happy etc and also talk about what went wrong when things did go bad.   They get a quarter for getting all stars.   The other day we had a really bad day, with Heather especially.  She kept knocking down Hannah's towers and just being really hard to deal with.  I told her that Santa doesn't give toys to naughty girls and that she'd better stop ruining Hannah's games.  She just looked at me with these big eyes and says "But Santa gives green lip gloss to HAPPY girls!!"  all smiles.  How can you say no to that??  But I had to try to tell her the difference between good and happy.  It was a dismal failure as now whenever we talk about naughty and nice,  she just tells us she's a happy girl.  Which you can't deny! LOL

Check out the index page and see the video of Hannah doing some singing.  She sang in the cherub choir at church and also at preschool.  She was super excited, and enjoyed every minute of the performance.  What a difference from last year!  (I was happy to attend the concert this year in person - last year I was in the hospital for appendicitis) She did GREAT!!  She sang all the songs and know all the movements.  She is going to be a munchkin in the school play this spring and is really excited about that too.  It will be fun!!

Dave did the most amazing decorating of our house this year!  He took 3 strands of lights (red/green/white) and made garlands across the front of the house.  It's also along the garage.  We got a lot of nice comments.  I think it looks waaaayyy better than those icicle lights.  It's different!  Dave also made the giant start our of PVC pipe, strung it with lights and sprayed it silver.  How cool is that!?
