Heather is my little mischievous one! She has been into everything lately. I can't leave her alone for a second. I know it comes with the age. Hannah was nothing like this! We called poison control a couple weeks ago for eating toothpaste. I know that toothpaste isn't really all that bad if they eat it (despite all the warnings) but this was my prescription toothpaste with l0 times the amount of flouride in it. She didn't eat much, if any, but we still needed to know if we had a problem. She had gotten up on a stool in our bathroom and was playing "makeup" putting it all over her face, into my contacts case and everywhere. Of course it was pretty funny, and we were embarassed that we had decided to sleep in and not watch her like we should. But then just yesterday she played with the shampoo. I was in the shower and getting out I hear Dave yelling "Heather where are you" and searching all over the house. I ran out in my towel to help search and we found her in the upstairs bathroom, stuck in the tub. She had poured her shampoo all over her head and everywhere. The sink had a ton in it. She was covered and I guess she thought she'd get in the tub and wash it off. Thankfully she just pretended to wash it off and called for help instead of turning the water on. I know that water comes out way too hot. I need to do something about that. It scares me to think of her getting stuck in the tub with super hot water in it. yikes! I am glad she is ok. She has also broken the DVD player and drawn on the walls. I sure hope this is the worst it gets.
Her little personality is blooming like crazy! She LOVES to pretend. Everyday she pretends to be a kitty cat, doggy (calls it Milo-Otis), monkey, donkey, or "Peter Totton-Tail hoppin down bunny trail." or whatever character she decided on for the day. Usually she'll pick one or two and really get into the role. She'll hop around or crawl on all 4's all day and meow, or try to pant and lick me. Its really cute. She loves music and singing now too. Her favorite songs are Twinkle Twinkle, ABC's, & Hark Angel (Hark the Harold Angel Sings). She will yell them out for me to sing them to her and I'll start singing ABCs and about at G she'll yell out "TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR HOW I WONDER WHAT YOU ARE!!" in her loudest voice. She doesn't even wait for me to finsish the song. We just laugh and I tell her I'll sing it next or just go on to the next song. The ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle are the same tune too, and I think that's why she likes them so much. Everynight at bedtime she asks us to sing her a song and do the yelling thing. She also loves all the other little kid songs and sings them all them time. She is sooo big. Last time we weighed and measured she was about 36 or 37 inches and weighted a little over 29 pounds. She has all her teeth now too. The last molar has just peeked through the gums and her eye teeth are just about halfway in. Glad all the teething is over.
Hannah wants to be a farmer when she grows up. She tells me when she is a big kid, she is going to move away to a farm and live with a daddy and have a baby come out of her tummy. Her baby will feed the chickens. If I want I can come pet the chickens and milk the cow with her too. She will even give me one of her chickens to keep if I want it. She will grow vegetables and have lots and lots of animals and take care of everyone. She is SUCH a planner! Her story almost never changes. So we'll see! She loves farm animals and playing with little animal toys. She loves bugs. Just like I did I imagine. We caught a ladybug and some "eggs" (although I decided they really weren't ladybug eggs after all) and put them in a little jar. She got so excited. We had a pet worm named "slimy" for a couple days after preschool had a little science project and they sent earth worms home with all the kids. I have never seen Hannah so excited in my life, except maybe at christmas. She made me read the care instructions over and over to her. We fed it some eggshells and put a little water on it. Thankfully she decided we can only keep it 2 days instead of the 2 weeks it said we could. I was worried the poor worm was going to die and I'd have to explain it to her. It was a happy experience releasing it into the garden. What a huge worm it was too. Hannah has become very independent. SUCH a big girl. She can zip her own coat (if she is feeling patient enough to do it), put on her own shoes & get dressed by herself, and do all the potty stuff! She made me a mothers day card and outlined her hands and decorated them all by herself and can draw kitty cats, and write the letter H very well. She loves to stamp and do arts and crafts with me, cook, sing songs, loves music class and preschool. I can't believe how big she is and how small she is too. Sometimes I see a big girl in her and sometimes I see a tiny little girl in her. I am thankful I can still see my tiny girl. I still get tons of compliments on how pretty she is. Her longer hair is so pretty and when I spray it in the morning it gets so curly. She has been letting me comb and do up her hair a lot more now. For her birthday she has asked me for big girl things. She wasn't quite sure what that meant herself but a watch and some rings were in it. So I got her a hello kitty purse, with rings, a necklace, nailpolish (for me to put on her), lip gloss, a hello kitty watch, and some cute hair accesories. I hope she likes it. She is very excited for her birthday. The ice cream cone cupcakes have been requested so for sure we will be doing that. The theme is ocean/nemo. I am having fun planning it. She knows exactly who she wants to invite from her preschool class and friends we know. Being 4 is going to be soooo much fun for her! |
