Nai
Han Beach is Phuket’s southernmost beach flanked by steep hills and palm
trees. The beach has splendid sweep of white, clean sand and
attractive bay. Travelers can take pleasure from the charming
Nong Han Lagoon beyond the beach, and enjoy an impressive bayview at the
coastal hills. Comparing to other popular beaches such as Patong, Nai
Han is relatively quiet since most of its beachfront land is
occupied by the Nai Han Monastic Center. Nearby locates the Phuket Yacht
Club, established since 1986. Although
the beach’s clear sea may be seductive to swimmers, visitors are not
recommended to go for a swim here during May to October since it
is the Monsoon season when coastal currents can be strong, and
quite dangerous. Nai Han Beach is located next
to Phromthep Cape, and about 18 kilometres from town. From Chalong Intersection, take the road to Rawai Beach for some 3
kilometres. Take the right turn to Ban Sai Yuan, Nong Han for
another 4 kilometres. Regular bus service to and from Nai Han Beach and
Phuket town during daytime.
