Biography
Hilkka Kosinsky has been living in New York since 1980. She was born in Ristijärvi, a little village in a part of Finland called Kainuu. She was later employed by a Finnish bank, which with four mergers became a Scandinavian bank.
After leaving the bank in 2002, Hilkka found again her first love - painting. She has attended numerous courses for oil and pastel painting - including portraits, landscapes, nudes, techniques and materials, etc. - at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and also at the Westchester Art Workshop in White Plains, NY.
As she is at the beginning of her new career and wants to learn as much as possible, Hilkka has not yet exhibited much of her work. The places her work has been shown so far are: East Midtown Plaza art exhibition, Westchester Art Workshop annual exhibitions and recently at the Finlandia Foundation Art Auction in 2005.
