Welcome to Hogwarts! We are happy to have so many new witches and wizards here this year, learning together and having fun together. Although we do hope you will all have a wonderful time here, we feel that we must set down some basic ground rules for everyone to follow because of the different types of people in our community. If you feel that you will be unable to abide by these rules, we ask you to please reconsider enrolling.
I. General Rules
A. Behavior
1. Prejudice comments of any sort will not be tolerated. This includes (but is not limited to) negative comments about race, religion, gender, and age.
2. Pornographic material will not be tolerated.
3. Sexual references will not be tolerated. Please remember that there are people of all ages here.
4. You will be expected to speak in a civilized manner. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated. If you are uncertain about a word or statement, then it is probably not appropriate.
B. Authority
1. Everybody must follow the line of authority: Headmaster-->Deputy Headmistress-->Heads of Houses-->Professors-->Head Boy/Girl-->Prefects-->Students
2. All decisions made by the Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress are final.
C. Problems
1. If you have a problem with a fellow student, please contact your prefect to work it out. Prefects, if you cannot resolve the problem, it should be taken to the head of your house. They will take care of it from there.
2. Problems with classwork should be taken directly to your professor.
D. Student Government
1. Prefects will be chosen by their head of house.
2. Head Boy and Girl are appointed by the Head Office.
E. Classes
1. Class rules will be set by the professor, and enforced on their discretion.
