You can see how far San Andres is from Mainland Colombia.

Introduction:

Located much closer to Nicaragua than to Colombia, the archipelago of San Andres and Providencia is beautiful, remote and well worth visiting. San Andres, the largest island, is 7 mi/11 km long and 1.5 mi/2 km wide. It has wide pink and white beaches, coral reefs, coconut trees. If you're feeling active, you can visit pirate Henry Morgan's cave. His treasure, reportedly buried on the islands, has yet to be found. Spend some time exploring the natural aquarium at Haynes Cay. Providencia Island, some 45 mi/75 km to the north, is less developed and even more relaxed than San Andres. 750 mi/1,200 km northwest of Bogota.

A very small island. San Andres Island is only 1.5 miles wide and 12 miles long.
Its shaped like a Sea Horse with its tail pointing South.
