10th century (Psychomachia) - Possibly a bell tent but the representation is unusual.

13th century

1225-1235 A.D. (Assemblies (Maqâmât) of al Harîrî) - Nomad tents.
13th century (The Encampment of Jenghis Khan) Link to picture - Flat topped conical tents.

Early 14th century (The Siege of Jerusalem) - Canvas hall connecting two bell tents.
1314 A.D. (Rashid al-Din’s Jami al-Tawaikh)   Link to picture - Unusual wedge tents.
1350 A.D. (Roman de Troie) - Multi tiered bell tents.
1400 A.D. (Grandes Chroniques de France)  Link to pictures - Wooden frame supporting bell tent.
14th century (Pontifical de Sens) - Canvas covered 'U' shaped market stalls.
14th century (Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris. ms verandas 12559) - Pavilions with corner turrets.

1450 A.D. (Book of Hours of Alfonso V of Aragon) - Bell like canopy over bed.
1465 A.D.(King Rene of Anjou, Le Cueur d' Amours Espris (The book of the Heart Possessed by Love)) Link to pictures - Five point guy rope attachment, window in bell tent wall, patterned flooring.
1470-80 A.D.( Book of Hours, ‘Priest at death bed’) - Canopy but with pole clearly visible.
15th century (Tents on Carts in a festive parade) - Bell tents on carts.
15th century (Jean Froissart, Chroniques de Froissart) Link to pictures - Dormer windows in roof of bell tents.

16th century

Early 16th century (The Storming of Nantes) Link to picture - enclosed porch with door on bell tent.
1520 - 1530 A.D. (Qadimi, The Court of Faridun)< - Rectangular 'Ablutions' tent.
1525 A.D. (J. Breu, the Elder, The Battle of Pavia) - Tents in ditches.
1529 A.D. (Hans Sebald Beham, The Siege of Vienna) - marquee has a multi-tiered roof and is surrounded by a wall
                                 punctuated by bell tents
1529 A.D. (Erhard Schoen, Siege of Vienna) - Dome tents.
1530 A.D. (Mirza Àli, Preparing for the “Joust of the Twelve Rooks”) - Rectangular 'Ablutions' tent.
1535 A.D. (Erhard Schoen, Army Train) - Cooking tent with chimney.
1542 A.D. (Lucas Cranach, The Younger, The Siege of Wolfenbüttel) - A 'cooking' tent,  and unusual tent with a short roof ridge, a straight section like a pavilion but with one side rounded like a bell tent.
1546 A.D. (Lucas Cranach, Der Jungbrunnen (The Fountain of Youth)) - Red "Nissan" hut.
1552 A.D. (Master C.S. , The Siege of Metz) - Canvas road side stalls.
 1582 A.D. (‘Nasratnâma’ Alî of Gallipo, Lâlâ Mustafa Pasha in his encampment) - Flat topped bell tents.
 1600 A.D. (Faramarz ibn Khudadad, Khvurshidshah visited by King Tujjar Qissa-yi Farrukhruz) - Flat topped bell tents.
16th century (Jost Amman, The Bridge of Adultery) - Wooden frame used in conjunction with awning.

17th century

Later Middle Ages (Ilias Ambrosiana) - A tent of indeterminate design (could be a wall or bell tent)
16th century ? (artillery emplacement) - An unusual pavilion.
