15th century.  A red bell tent set up on the sea wall of Constantinople, a golden upturned crescent adorns the tent apex, the roof edge is decorated with a red and gold fringe. “The Crusader siege of Constantinople was one of the great moments of the Crusades (painted by Philippe de Bon, Arsenal, Paris).”
