Vietnam Essay

A selection of links to Vietnam sites are listed below with comments as to usefulness.

A further page on online resources is here.

I have written some essay guidelines here.

LINKS

Please note that the Spartacus and Learn History sites contain lists of more links if you wish to make use of them..

History Learning Site
- Not at all interesting to look at, but a page of good, solid content about the Vietnam conflict, together with appropriate hyper-links within the text.  This link takes you direct to the Vietnam page - the wider site is also worth checking out later for help with other topics.

Battlefied Vietnam
- Professional site from American broadcaster, this gives good summary of background, and useful section on guerrilla tactics.  The section on the Air War is of little value, since it is simply a succession of different planes and helicopters with technical specifications - only for the air nerd.  The Siege of Khe Shan is a good interactive segment.

Spartacus
-  The inevitable resource from the spartacus site.  This is a mammoth resource in terms of information available, with a substantial range of topic coverage and a hefty sprinkling of hyperlinks throughout.  This link will take you to a gateway site, replete with a large number of links to specific Spartacus pages and external sites.

Spartacus - war summary - If you don't want to wade through the many links above, this will take you direct to the Spartacus summary of the war.  Quite useful, but it is an overview so you have to select the parts relevant to the coursework essay.

Learn History
-  This is basically a coursework website, but it does have some useful links.  The actual information is very thin - click on U.S. tactics or Vietnamese tactics and you will see quite a basic outline of each.  BUT the links on the right hand side of the above sections are useful.
