| "For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another." Mark 9:49-50 How desperately our nation needs the salt of Christian witness! As Christians, having salt within ourselves, we are able to unite with others and help to obtain peace. We want to thank our heavenly Father for the countless blessings bestowed on us and the freedom we have to worship our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord, who gave His life for us, told us that we are to be "the salt of the earth" (Matthew 5:13). That not only applies to our private lives as individual Christians, but also to our civic lives. As salt, we help preserve the health of our nation, preventing corruption and moral decay. Dishonesty, greed, profanity, sexual immorality are all around us today. Joining together with other God-fearing citizens we are to do all within the power God gives us to stop corruption that threatens our land. We must season others with salt Christians! Salt that is not applied is worthless! Application: If a seasoning has no flavor, it has no value. If Christians make no effort to affect the world around them, they are of little value to God.When we become too much like the world we are worthless.We should affect others positively, just as seasoning brings out the best flavor in food. Let us promote integrity and justice with a little bit of seasoning, to work diligently for the Lord, that others may know of His salvation!
