"We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake." 1Thessalonians 1:2-5

The Apostle Paul enjoyed people and was thankful for those people God placed in his life. When he thought of others, he remembered the positive blessings God had given to them. Although Paul had many trials and tribulations in Philippi, he remembered the good things about his Christian friends there. Having been forgiven by God through Christ, Paul was able to forgive others also. By God's grace, Paul was able to remember the best and forget the rest! God empowered Paul to bring those people before His throne of grace in thanksgiving. Now, might we ask ourselves, "Do we enjoy the people God has placed in our lives?" We need to be looking at the good things God has done through them, and give thanks!

Application:
Life is too short not to enjoy the people God has placed in our lives. May we take Paul's lead in giving thanks to God for the blessings of the people who share our lives. Christ's love should overflow in us, causing us to find joy in caring for others. Are we the "effective" Christians with faithful works and loving deeds we ought to be? Perhaps we should challenge ourselves!

May God bless you with a wonderful day as you look for the "good" things of the people God has placed in your life.
