"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."
Revelation:3:15-16

Lines can be very important to us. They help us know where we stand ~ we are either on one side of the line or the other. We have lines everywhere in our lives: they are in parking lots, to designate parking spaces; they are on our roads, to help traffic flow more safely; we have lines on rulers, to show units of measure; we have lines in all of our sport events (basketball, football, and baseball) to help players and referees know if the ball or players are out of bounds ~ these are just some lines we encounter each day.
Now, let's look in Exodus 32 where we can see where Moses drew a line. God's people were paticipating in drinking, worshiping idols, and just plain partying! Moses knew that God's command was for the people to love, obey and worship only God. In a very courageous move, Moses stepped in front of all those people and drew a line! "Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. . ." (Exodus 32:26). That day, many crossed the line by standing with Moses and the Lord!
Jesus, too, drew a line when He called those from the multitude to follow Him. Jesus' words make a very clear line: either you are for Christ or you are against Him. That same line still applies today! We must decide on which side of the line we will stand.

Application:
Many people choose to stand on both sides of the line. And for those individuals Jesus replies, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold or hot . . . because thou art lukewarm . . . I will sppue thee out of my mouth." When it comes to drawing a line, Jesus really is laying heavy on the chalk! There's not middle ground with Him ~ in fact, middle ground makes Him sick! So, which side of the line would you care to stand on? We all need to stand on God's side!

May your day be wonderfully blessed as you think seriously before crossing over to the wrong side of the line and becoming "lukewarm."

Love in Christ,
Sandy
