| "For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, AS I LIVE, SAITH THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS TO GOD. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." Romans 14:9-12 All of us, no matter who we are, will have to give account of ourselves to God one day. This means that we will one day be answering to Him for our conduct here on earth, as well as the use of our time spent here that He has given us. This applies to all of us ~ we all have some possessions, gifts, and talents which God has given us to use for service to Him. And how we use these gifts is of great concern to Him! He will require us to give an account of how we use what we have. Other than material things, we have wonderful other gifts God has given us to use. We have eyes, which He has given us to behold things that are good and beautiful, to read His Holy Word; We have ears to listen and respond to the needy; We have mouths to witness and to speak kind words, pray, and to prasie; We have hands to help and feet to rescue the troubled. Are we sharing our blessings with those who are less fortunate? Are we following God's Commandments? Application: Jesus has been given the authority to judge all the earth. Although His judgment is already working in our lives, there is still yet a future, final judgment when Christ returns, and everyone's life will be reviewed and evaluated. Let us not think for one minute that only the unbelievers will face this judgment only. Christtians, too will face this judgment. Their eternal destiny is secure, but Jesus will look at how they handled gifts, opportunities, and responsibilities in order to determine their healthy rewards. May God bless you and grant you faithfulness in serving Him always, using your gifts to help others in need, bringing glory to His Holy Name. <J><E><S><U><S>< <S><A><V><E><S>< Love in Christ, Sandy |
