| "And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God." Ruth 1:16 Ruth made an important decision here ~ A decision for God! After the death of her mother-in-law's (Naomi) husband and two sons (Mahlon and Chilion), in the land of Moab, Naomi decided to return to home to her people unto the land of Judah. At the beginning of Naomi's journey home, her daughter's-in-law, Orpah and Ruth accompanied her. Naomi encouraged them to return to their land and their god's, as she feared for them to go with her. Orpah returned to her land and her god's. However, Ruth continued on with Naomi. Naomi's faith in God was so strong, that I believe Ruth could see this. Along with the deep love Ruth had for her mother-in-law, came belief and trust in what Naomi believed and trusted in also. I believe Ruth shows geniune repentance here. The kind of repentance that means something! The New Testament says, "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death" (2Corinthians 7:10). Ruth made this decision. How many people do you encounter and walk with each day? How many of these know the Lord? Could you be such a great influence as Naomi was to Ruth right here, right now? Walk with the Lord, in the Lord each day. Be a shining example of His light so that others may follow. God Bless You ~ Have a joyful day in the Lord! <J><E><S><U><S>< <S><A><V><E><S>< |
