| "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." Ecclesiastes 9:11 In the winter and early spring there seems to be no life in our gardens, fields and forests. Everything looks dead ~ twice dead. However, this is not so. Under the grounds surface, roots are full of ferment, seeds are swelling, and within the bark of the tree is as much movement as in the city's noisy streets. Every fiber is tingling with vital force, and the sap is coursing along the channels. All that is needed is the warmth of the smiling sun and a little bit of God's gentle breeze and the branches will soon burst into buds and bring forth flowers. So in souls that seem dead ~ twice dead, the Spirit of God is often at work, and one earnest heaven-sent message call out the buds of penitence and faith, and it is seen as a very garden of the Lord. Spiritual winter may hold a springtime of blessing and resurrection glory in its chill grasp, but He who commands both can easily transform the one into the other. Don't allow what seem to you as inequities of life keep you from earnest, dedicated work. We serve a loving, living God ~ not people! Be as the trees in the forest and work all year through to produce buds in full bloom come spring. May God bless you with a wonderful day. Love in Christ Jesus, Sandy |
