"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God." Ephesians 5:19-21

It would not take us very long to make a list of all the wonderful things to be thankful for. You could begin your list with God's love, family, good friends, food, clothing, shelter, and go on and on. But more important in our thankfulness should be the gifts God gives us by which we have His life: His Spirit dwelling in us, making life out of mere existence; His Son, who died and rose again so we might have life instead of death; His Gospel, the message by which He gives us this new life; His church, our fellow Christians, some living on earth, some in heaven, who share this Gospel and this faith with us.

Such a great cloud of witnesses surround us: The glorious company of the apostles, the fellowship of the prophets, the noble army of martyrs, the holy church throughout the world! May we continually give thanks to the Lord as we are blessed to walk this Christian road which is no uncharted path. And give thanks always to Him for His love which is the same yesterday, today and forevermore.

Love in Christ Jesus, Sandy
