"Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it."

As I was going through the leftovers in the refrigerator the other day, I got to thinking about dinner guests. I don't have many guests to dinner, but if I were to, I thought about how much trouble I would go to in preparing a good, wholesome meal. Perhaps even using my better plates and silverware. Anyway, my point is that I would more than likely not even consider serving them my leftovers from the week. A message was placed on my heart while deep in thought of a simple thing such as leftover food.

When you invite someone into your home, do you serve them leftovers on paper plates and gather around the television to eat? Of course not. You probably go to extreme pains to be sure everything is just right for your guests. We do our best to serve them the very best.

Now, may I get to the heart of this: How many of us invite the Lord Jesus into our life and then serve HIM leftovers? We give Him time left over from our work day, our family, our recreation. We give Him talents leftover from our social activities. We give Him money leftover after we pay our bills and our taxes and many set a little aside for that rainy day. Are we so selfish that we forget where these gifts and blessings come from to begin with? Why are we this way church? We are to be sure that we set aside the best portions of all our given gifts as our gift to the Lord!

Think on this Christians! Then ask yourself, "Have I given to the Lord who died for me the choicest, or have I given Him leftovers?"

May your day be wonderfully blessed with the goodness of God.
