Romans Chapter 8 (Continued)

Romans 8:5-6 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

He basically wanted us to Love G-d and others. However, Love cannot be stagnantly defined. Love is of the Spirit. We set our minds on things above. This mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.

So we are obligated to follow the Spirit of G-d and these are the sons of G-d. We are heirs with Him and because He suffered, we suffer with Him, but we consider this nothing to the glory that will be revealed to us. We yearn to be set free from our mortal bodies and receive our glorified bodies just as Yeshua received His.

Romans 8:7-15 Because the carnal mind is enmity against G-d: for it is not subject to the law of G-d, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please G-d. But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of G-d dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Messiah, he is none of his. And if Messiah be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Yeshua (Jesus) from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Messiah from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of G-d, they are the sons of G-d. For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Spirit of adoption - G-d adopts us into His family and we are entitled to all of the rights and privileges that go along with being a legitimate heir.

We should have no fear. We are filled with joy because we are His children.

Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of G-d: And if children, then heirs; heirs of G-d, and joint-heirs with Messiah (Christ); if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.

One can tell a true believer by his spirit. Are we loving?

One must know about the Spirit as a true believer.

For even Paul asked the Corinthians:

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? Don't you know that your body is the temple of Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) which is in you, which you have of G-d, and ye are not your own?

And again Paul asked

Acts 19:2-4 And he said to them, "Did you receive Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) when you believed?" And they said to him, "No, we have not even heard whether there is a Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit)." And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" And they said, "Into John's baptism." And Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Yeshua (Jesus)."

We are a new creation. We want to serve Him.

Aren't these words comforting?

Romans 8:18-27 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of G-d. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of G-d. For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. And He that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of G-d.

Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) helps us to pray when we cannot find the words.
