Coastakia dragons protect eight Holds and whatever may lie between them. Whether they came from this continent or from the northern end of Pern, many folk make their homes in peaceful valleys, on great plains, on jutting peninsulas, along inlets, and, of course, on the great island that protects them.
Under the leadership of Weyrwoman Salana and her Gold Zyvimeth, Coastakia Weyr has prospered in its short life in existence. The present Weyrleader M'rik and his faithful Bronze Mericth had founded this distant Weyr (with the aid of M'rik's love, Ferri, and her Gold Zyfith) among the unexplored reaches of the Southern Continent many turns ago. It is on this island that the age-old battle against Thread was waged again and the few dragonriders of the area came out victorious.
Come one, come all to the peaceful island of Coastakia Weyr and its surrounding lands. But. . .be warned: life is like a queen's clutch, very few things are certain. . .
