In the summer of 1996 we packed up anything that would fit in the car and went "on Tour".  It was Mike and I, our friend Rich, Stephanie (Rich's girlfriend at the time),her 8 month old baby, and another friend Kieth.  I know, it wasn't a very good idea to take a baby on the road with us, but it was the Mom's car!

We were following the band "Rat Dog",and "Rusted Root".  Rusted root is a tribal band, and has been a favorite of mine for a long time.

Anyway, there were thousands of other "kids" traveling too.  And some grown people too!!  We would go from city to city, selling what we could for gas money.  We tried selling  cheesburgers, and caught a lot of slack for selling meat, so we switched to selling grilled cheese sandwiches!!  We actually made decent $ doing that!  lol  Well, enough for camping and food and fun....

I was amazed by the closeness of the people there!!  It was like family!  We all watched out for each other.  There were a LOT of drugs there too.  NOT that I condone drug use, it does fry your brain.  I have tried a few (this all was when I was 19 - I think!)   Mostly I smoked pot.  While on the road I tried Opium-it gave me bad headaches...so I didn't like it any.  There were a couple others, but I won't go into any more detail about that, I wouldn't want anyone to think I am encouraging drug use.....Since then I have quit taking anything but what the Doc prescribes!!

Every night there was music and dancing!  Huge groups of people would get out there Bongo drums and form circles with them.  The women looked so beautiful swaying in those circles with their long flowing skirts.  I was in a trance watching and listening.

It is because of this dancing and fellow feeling that Quiet and I went to another concert a couple years ago in Live Oak, Florida.  It is only a couple hours away from us, and his Mom kept the kids for the weekend while we went camping!

The band playing this time was "the Other Ones".  It is who is left of the "Grateful Dead".  It isn't the same with out Jerry Garcia, but they still play great music!  The opening band was the reggae singer Ziggy Marley.

This time I was one of those women in the drum circle dancing to the beat of the drums.  I vividly recall the feel of being one with the music, with no care to who was watching me.   I felt totally at one with the earth and the people around me.  I wish I could better describe our experience!!!  Mike isn't much for dancing, doesn't think he can....but I know he LOVED watching me!  Every time I looked at him, he was smiling from ear to ear!!

I don't think I had ever had such a good time!!

We only had enogh money when we arrived at the campground to pay for the camping.  The camping was covered for the whole weekend.  That was okay though, because at the previous "show"  I had learned how to weave macrame necklaces from Hemp Rope.  So I had taken a bunch with me to sell and trade.  So we had all the food and water we needed.  I also traded for some really neat clothes!!

This year the Festival didn't come close enough for us to go...hopefully next year...
HI!  This is the page about just me. ....Sunny

My real name is Angela Catherine (means Angelic and pure-my Mom did a great job choosing a beautiful and meaning ful name!)I live in a small town in the south-east corner of Georgia, USA.

I was born in Davenport, Iowa.  My Dad joined the US Navy 6 months later.  So I have lived and been all over the continental United States.  Let's see if I can remember them all...lol.  Idaho (a sister born there);  Charleston, South Carolina (a brother born there); Groton, Connecticut ( a sister born there); San Diego, California; and now I am in Georgia.

I think my favorite place to live was in Ca.  I liked the weather and all of the camping trips we went on.  Once we moved to Ga., that stopped.  It is too hot and humid and buggy here to do much camping...
I married a local man.  My Dad is now retired, and my parents and youngest brother and sister live in Illinois.  The sister who is only 16 months younger then I still lives here too.  She also married a local man.

One of my favorite childhood memories is the trip we made moving from California to here.  We took two weeks to do it, and made many stops on the way.  We camped at the Grand Canyon for a couple of days.  I remember waking up at 4:00 am and hiking up a trail to go watch the Sunrise.  Never had I seen something SO incredible or breathtaking!!  I can still see it when I try.  We also stopped at Las Vegas.  We stayed at the Circus Circus Inn.  The room was soo ugly!!  Striped red and orange walls!  Mom was sick, so we didn't sight see too much while we were there...I do remnember all the beautiful lights, and seeing a white tiger.  Stopped at the Hoover dam, and at a big crater--don't remember what it was called...

My husband is going to ITT-Technical Institute.  He graduates in 2003.  When he does, we are definatly going to move!!  There are a few places we would like to go....Colerado, Arizona, or Illinois.

As you can see, Sunflowers are one of my favorites!  This past spring I grew 8 mammoth sized ones in my back yard!  They ranged between 4 and 7 feet tall!!  The heads of them were bigger then my head!  I will be posting a picture of me standing by them soon.  So check back.

I am growing strawberreis and Morning glories in my yard to, plus I have two rose bushes.  One of the roses had 10 pink flowers on it yesterday!  They smell soo good!  The morning glories all seem to have purple flowers.  They are climbing the fence that is between me and my next door neighbor.  I wanted to get a little more privacy, with out tacking up a blanket on the fence! (LOL)  It is a 6 foot fence.  This year I added Moonflowers to the fence.  I am so excited to see it all bloom!!

Some of the adventures
I have gone on:
Another Adventure:

We had decided to leave town with a friend.  This was about 2 months after we got married. Between the three of us we had abotu $200.00.  The plan was to eventually end up out west...
to find a place we could fit in.
We went to see friends of mine in Conway, South Carolina.  Then we went to Kingsport, Tennessee with a friend, to see her friend. To make a long story short, things got REALLY bad!!  Mike and I ended up hitch-hiking out of there.

We went to stay with old high school friends in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  We got a ride to the interstate.  We then walked for a while...it started raining.  The an older man stopped.  He said he had never picked anyone up before, but God told him he had to get us.  All he wanted in return was for Mike to play his guitar for him!!  Someone else picked us up because my hat looked like his girlfriends!  So he figured we must be ok....lol  He gave us $5.00 for food and dropped us of at a Waffle House in Nashville, Tennessee.  They fed us for free, in return for music played by Mike.  We met other interesting people too, a Spanish man who didn't speak English picked us up.  We managed to learn we were all married!  hehe.

Another guy picked us up just because the hat I was wearing looked like one his girlfriend had!  So he said "You must be okay!"
The weather got REALLY bad outside.  So when he dropped us off, it was at a waffle House in Nashville, Tennessee.  He gave us all the cash he had on him, which was $5.00..to get us something to eat.

The people at the Waffle House fed us for free!  They were verty nice peple and let us hang out all night.  The cook made us some waffles to take on the road with us.  Mike played his guitar for them in return.  The waitress took us home with her for a couple hours so we could get a little sleep when her night shift was over,

There was another man who could have been the gay guy from the movie "Indipendance Day"!!  He dropped us off and went to the truck stop.  A few minutes later he picked us back up, said he got flirted with by a man! There was another man I will never forget.  He offered to take us the rest of the way to where we were going.  He had the oddest blue eyes,  They peirced through my soul in a bad way I cannot describe..
We made him drop us off.

When we got to our destination, we found out I was almost four months pregnant!!!!

Once again, GOD was watching over us!!!!!!
