Identity : Rabid Atheist Hindu Fundamentalist

Favourite  Quote: "Hard it is to know what right Dharma is ... WE CENSURE NOT THOSE WHO DO NOT ACCEPT THE LAWS AND WORKS PRESCRIBED BY THE SRUTIS [VEDAS] AS DHARMA, BECAUSE ALL TASKS PRESCRIBED BY THE SRUTIS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AS DHARMA [EVERY TIME]."

Pet peeve:   blind devotion, Indian secularists, you can hardly tell when the media is not lying

Particular Hindu peeve:   most educated Hindus don’t read their scriptures and is interested only in whitewashing what they think to be unpleasant parts.

AMBITION for this WEBPAGE:  Teachers will recommend this page and its links for a quick intro about Hindu Women.

PROJECTS

1) Woman- centred

Women in Hindu scriptures: bits about women in Hindu shastras I personally found fascinating like polyandry, illegitimate sons etc. Not for the weak-stomached who only want to think about pure ideal Indian womanhood.

Image of  the Female in Hinduism: how women were regarded, both positive and negative sides.

Women's position in Hindu civil society-- (1)  (2)  :   a short summary  on general  condition of women from available texts and history. These two pages deal with the inheritance rights of women, their economic condition, their rights to divorce and remarriage, their condition as wives, their role in politics and on the positive impact of the feminist virangana culture. But they are only about traditional Hinduism, not modern.

Rights of Hindu Women Versus  Muslim Women:  Many Muslim websites have put up their version of Hindu oppression of women, very conveniently overlooking their own record. This webpage challenges such propaganda and in return counter-criticizes Islam. Please don't enter if you find such wrangling between religions offensive. Proudly stating that after an earlier version of this page appeared, a number of Muslim webpages with the same name turned up --- success!

Maha Satis or Great Satis: This is not about sati as the term is understood. This is about the Great Satis who did not burn.

Famous women of power :  Hindu Queen Regnants and women administrators.

Prostitutes in Hindu society:  prostitution , secular and sacred, barangana and devadasi, in Hinduism.

2) Others: (which would have lot of people protesting as their comfort zone becomes hot)

Muhammad is not in Hindu Scriptures, no matter how much they claim he is. (But I expect the truly faithful will not be convinced).

Gandhi and Islam:  His relationship with Muslim politicians during Indian Independence struggle which plainly shows why it is a mistake to mix politics and religion, particularly Islam the religion of 'compassion and peace'. (Screams of anguish from Politically Correct crowd)

Missionaries in India:  their lying propaganda and atrocities. (Don't expect many Christians to believe in them as it would compel them to take off  their rose coloured glasses).

Aryan Invasion (NOT):  Refutations of Aryan Invasion theory. (Gnashing of teeth from leftist historians)

On Varna and related issues:  What exactly does caste mean to the Hindus and what are its implications?

Caste in other religions in India: exactly as the title says

http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/a_hindu_woman/answertohindu.shtml  :  my answer to the webpage "Why I am not a Hindu"; both web pages are off-site. (Kicking those Indian 'liberals' who simply learn their lines about Hinduism by heart instead of  thinking it through))

Praise will be appreciated, flames about my pages on Hinduism will be treated as products of  unenlightened minds, scholarly discussions most wanted --- [email protected]
