The Film and Video Media Division of the HPMA is a conjunction between MB Productions, AI Pictures and the Faulkner Media Group.
Film
At the HPMA, we use professional tools and our ample media experience to produce top quality films. This page contains explanations of these tools and techniques and gives information about what sort of video we produce.
All of our video productions are done with a fully trained crew for camera, sound and light elements, and if necessary, a special effects crew can be called in at any time. All direction is usually done by Michael Beattie. He handles everything from stunt co-ordination to final cut editing.
Any film bearing the logo above would have been directed by Michael Beattie. He is also a producer, but decides not to use another logo for his production-only films. Any film with the AI Pictures logo would have been produced by Aren Insalaco. The same concept applies to the Faulkner Media Group.
Once all of the footage is captured onto MiniDV quality or better, it is transfered to the computer via the ATi Radeon 9600 A-I-W video card. The video is then rendered to DVD quality MPEG-2. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, the film is put together. Using Premiere Pro allows the producers to use Chroma Keying (Blue Screen) and other media elements. Chroma Keying, or Colour Separation Overlay, has an endless number of applications. With the background being all blue (or green) Premiere turns everything blue transparent. This allows one to put in a different background, such as a newcast background. The reason blue is used is because it is the compliment of skin colour. However,  lighting is made easier using a green screen.
Once the film's special effects are complete, the editor will begin to order all of the scenes. Usually at the HPMA, Director Michael Beattie performs this teadeous task of arranging every scene in the movie, each from a few seconds to minutes long.

The producers at the HPMA are always at work trying to create the most suiting, fulfilling, material appropriate film. They have had much success in previous works, and have many plans for the future. They are open to any suggestions, which can be sent to us via email. (See Submissions) If you are interested in working with the HPMA send us an email and we'll show you what we can do for you.
