SUMMER POEMS

Summer is a time where most people tend to have more time to do things and go to places they usually don't have time for. Children are out of school and they have about two months to themselves. The parents would take time off work to take care of their children and go visit places with them. The city people might go to the country sides to get closer in contact with mother nature.

Summer is a time where children just simply hang around and do whatever they wanted. They could go out and play with their friends or they could simply stay home and watch t.v. It is a time where there is no expectations on them. Some children might actually decide to take courses but most won't.

Summer is also a time where children's out door experiences become more enhanced. They can spend hours out doors investigating things they find curious or they would be playing sports with their friends.

What children hate in the summer is when it rain. Well it just so happens that I am one of them. Well after reading the poem Summer Shower it has changed my perspective. Emily Dikinson wrote about how winderful rain is and what happens to mother nature once it stopped raining and the sun came out.

Another poem I picked was Naked With Summer In Your Mouth, written by Al Purdy. Many people change their perspective on summer once they hit a certain age. Well, Al Purdy looks back at his old age and thinks about all the time that has passed and the memories it has brought him.

Summer is usually a time where people get to relax but people tend to forget about it in their hectic schedules. In the poem Summer Morning, Charles Simic goes into detail about one summer morning and the little details of life he noticed.

Summer may be a time for most people to relax but for farmers and ranchers, the day is still as busy as every. They need to make sure they have enough grass and water to survive the summer and they also need to prepare hay for the coming up winter. Summer Evening talks about how the evenings are the time for ranchers and livestocks to all go back home and simply enjoy the sunset.
