The best explaination for this is that it depends...much like Christianity, there are many "denominations" of Paganism--unlike Christianity, many of them have little in common. Pagan is an umbrella term for many distinct spiritual paths, rather than one distinct religious tradition. Pagans practice some form of mostly earth-centered, often polytheistic, religious or spiritual path that generally incorporates the use of ritual and magic(k) that may either be inspired by, a reconstruction of or an eclectic mix of pre-Christian Pagan faiths and other modern Pagan religions (think definition #1). The largest Pagan faith is Wicca and its various offshoot traditions. Some other Pagan faiths include Druidry, Asatru, Heathenry, Stregheria/Italian Witchcraft, Discordianism, Green Witchcraft, Celtic, Hellenic, Roman and Egyptian Paganism.
