Past Life Part Four

OK, I know it took me longer to get this one out, but that's only because I didn't want to put out the hentai version without putting out a clean version. Enjoy the fic!
I Love You...
Serena woke up the next day very well rested, and got ready for school. She worried the whole house when she actually left the house early.
"Serena honey are you ok?"
"Yeah meatball head, shouldn't leave five minutes before school starts?"
"I have to admit Serena, this is a little strange"
"I'm fine you guys I'm just trying to get a head start today.
"That guy must be a good influence on you"
"HUH!? What guy is trying to take my poor daughter away from me!?"
The whole house was intrigued, but Serena really just wanted to hear how much he knew.
"You mean you didn't see him last night Serena?"
"No, I don't know what your talking about"
"That guy...what's his name...the guy that came up with the whole meatball head thing...
"Darien?"
"Yeah that's it! He was standing outside your window for like an hour last night"
"He was spying on Serena?"
"I don't think so, it was more like he was watching over her...he may have been out there longer than that, I fell asleep after a while"
"So Serena, when are we going to meet this mystery man?"
Serena was already half way out the door.
"Love to stay and chat mom, but I'm going to be late for school"
"Serena, your 20 minutes early!"
"Early bird catches the worm!"
She was anxious to get to school on early, she wanted to talk to Ami and Lita; she had to know how they felt about the situation. She knew Ami would be early, just because that�s the way Ami was, but Lita was more like herself, always late. She was outside waiting by the gate to the school for less than 5 minutes when Ami showed up.
"Hello Serena"
"Hey Ami, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure what's up?"
"Well, it's about Rei and me, I need advice about what to do"
Ami looked stumped.
"I really don't know what to tell you, she won't be angry with you forever, I think you should just wait it out"
15 minutes late, Lita being forever confrontational, gave Serena totally different advice.
"I think you should tell her how you feel, just go to her and say 'Rei, it wasn't my fault I'm sorry he doesn't like you, but it isn't worth wasting a friendship over, SO GET OVER IT!'...you know she could have gotten you killed in that last fight"
"She...she"
"She wasn't backing you up...the other scouts all talked about it, but neither you nor Rei are supposed to know about it, but if she acts like that again, we're going to put her on probation"
"but..."
"Artimis and Luna agree with us, if she doesn't get over this Darien thing soon, than she's risking all our lives"
"But Lita..."
RIIIIINNNNGGGGGGG
"Oh shoot we're late for class come on!"
Late that day, at lunch Serena had a chance to talk to Ami and Lita together, and they both came to the same conclusion. Waiting it out would take too long, so she better talk to her about it, and tell her to get over it, but not as harshly as Lita had put it.
"It'll be OK Serena, we all have your back, if this doesn't work, then we'll keep trying to talk to her for you, right Ami?"
"Right"
"Thanks you guys"
She had gotten through another boring day at school, and was now determined to talk to Rei. She walked briskly to the shrine ready to confront the girl that was so pissed at her something that wasn't her fault. Chad met her at the door.
"Hi Serena, what are you doing here"
"I came to talk to Rei"
"Yeah, I thought so...look, I really don't think now is the time to try to have a heart to heart"
"Chad I really need to talk to her"
"Ok, she's in her room"
"Thanks"
Serena began to walk inside the temple when Chad called after her.
"Hey, Serena"
"Yes?"
"If it makes any difference, I think she has no reason to be angry with you"
"Thanks Chad, it makes a lot of difference"
"Serena, good luck"
Serena turned and smiled at Chad before she made her way into the temple. She knocked softly on Rei's bedroom door.
"Come in"
When she came into the room, she could tell Rei wasn't happy to see her.
"Rei I just..."
"Go away Serena, I don't want to see you right now"
"Rei just let me talk"
"are you hard of hearing, I SAID GO AWAY!"
"Rei it isn't my fault! He kissed me, not the other way around"
"He wasn't himself, and you took advantage of that, it is your fault!"
"Rei, he said something to me yesterday...when he was himself"
"Did he tell you it was a mistake, because I knew he would come around to his senses sooner or later"
"No...He told me he meant what he said...that day, I don't think he regrets what happened between us"
"What happened between you? Something happened between you and your telling me it isn't your fault...it takes two to tango Serena"
"I...I can't ignore the way I feel about him Rei I..."
"But you can ignore the way I feel about him"
"Rei it wasn't like that, it's like we were always meant for each other, we both keep having these memories..."
"So now your telling me you two were lovers in a past life...Serena get out"
"Rei I'm not making this up!"
"SERENA GET OUT!!!"
Serena stood in Rei's room for a few more seconds before she turned and walked out of the room with her head hung low.
"So how'd it go?"
"I don't want to talk about it"
Chad could see how sad she was, and he shouted at her that everything would be OK as she walked down the steps away from the temple.
"SHE JUST NEEDS TIME SERENA, IT'LL BE OK JUST WAIT AND SEE. Serena was heart broken, she couldn't even talk to her about it, let alone change her mind about the subject; she didn't know what to do. Her thoughts were interrupted by the beeping of her Sailor Scout communicator.
"What's up Ami?"
"There's a really bad nega monster at that new restaurant on 6th street, we're going to need Sailor Moon's help"
"I'm on my way"
Serena found a hidden spot on the way to the restaurant and changed into Sailor Moon, and ran full speed towards her friends. When she got there, they were all still fighting strong, but they were obviously beginning to tire.
"Sailor Moon...a little help here"
"I'm on it Jupiter"
The monster was a tall, shapely, scantily clad, hideous vacuum monster that kept trying to suck them into the 'vacuum of doom'. She turned her sights on Sailor Moon, when a rose took her attention.
"Sailor Mars why aren't you backing Sailor Moon up, she needs time to use her tiara"
"She's so powerful, she can back herself up, Mercury"
"Mars you have to let this stupid grudge go, you're going to get us all killed"
"Venus just stay out of it, you haven't been out on a date for the last millennium, you don't know anything about what I'm going through"
"That is SOOO IT!, I can't believe you..."
"HEY YOU GUYS, I COULD USE SOME HELP!"
While the other scouts were fighting, Sailor Moon was dodging the attacks of the demon, and trying to fight the demon all by herself.
"I got it Moon...Jupiter, Thunder...CRASH!!!!"
"Sailor Moon now!"
"Moon...Tiara...MAGIC!!!!!"
The Vacuum chick was dusted now, but there problems still weren't over.
"Mars I'm getting so tired of you endangering the whole group over something so childish...
"Why don't you lecture Sailor Moon Venus, she's the one that�s always crying more than fighting, she's a weak leader and you all know it!
"Hey you guys the cops are coming, we gotta get out of here!"
"You heard Jupiter, we have to get out of here you two"
"Mercury is right, we'll continue this conversation later Mars"
They all fled the scene. When Serena got home Luna was nowhere to be found. She called Mina to see if her and Rei had resolved whatever it was they were fighting over, but she wasn't there either, in fact none of the scouts were at there houses. With no one to talk to and nothing else to do, she got into the bed and went to sleep.
When Darien got home from the fight he had vented most of his anger, but not all. 'What the hell is wrong with Mars?' This was the second time she had almost gotten them all killed. It was crazy, you don't argue with your comrades when you�re fighting a life or death battle. He finally decided he couldn't do anything about it but hope that the scouts could handle it themselves.
The next morning was gloomy and rainy. The temperatures in Tokyo had dropped, but only enough for it to be freezing rain instead of snow. As Serena walked to the arcade she couldn't help but wish it were snow. When she entered the room she thanked God for heating systems and sat down at the counter and waited for Andrew to notice her. She didn't want to flirt today, she just needed a friend to talk to. She was in desperate need of cheering up.
"Hey Serena how are you doing?"
"Well actually, that�s why I came here"
"Really, what's wrong?"
He passed her a hot chocolate noticing the goose bumps on her arms when she took of her coat.
"Is it about you and Rei?"
"How did you know about...?"
"Well Darien tried to talk to her couple of times and told me about that, and Mina and Lita are just as you know, the worlds best gossipers when they're together"
"I guess you're right...Darien tried to talk to her?"
"Yeah, you didn't know?"
"No, I didn't"
"He went to her the day after it happened and tried to talk to her, but she wasn't hearing it. A couple of days later she came up to him and asked him on a date...he said no"
"No wonder she still isn't over it, she got rejected twice in one week"
"Yeah, and it all in some way had to do with you"
"How?"
"Darien didn't turn her down because he had to wash his hair you know"
Serena blushed a little bit at the thought that Darien had turned down Rei because he wanted her.
Darien was walking to the arcade to talk to Andrew when he noticed Serena was there. He figured it wasn't stalking if he was already going to the place, so he stood outside in the freezing rain watching her. He studied every movement, the way she looked when she was sad. He never wanted to see that look again after this day, he was going to make her happy someday. He smiled to himself when he saw her rosy complexion get a little rosier at something Andrew had said to her. Darien was across the street from the arcade watching Serena talking to Andrew when he saw Rei walk go in.
"Good, maybe she's over the whole thing"
He hoped out loud, he couldn't have been more wrong.
Serena was talking to Andrew when he looked over and paused for a second.
"Hey Rei!"
He smiled his warm smile hoping it would calm her little. He could see by the look in her eyes that she was pissed. His smile had no effect. Serena looked up just in time to see Rei's hand flying towards her face. The blow connected hard knocking Serena off the stool she was sitting on, but not off of her feet.
"REI WH..."
"DON'T PLAY STUPID SERENA,YOU KNOW WHY!!"
"No I don't I swear"
Tears were beginning to fall from her eyes.
"THEY VOTED ME OUT BECAUSE OF YOU!!!! THEY SAID I WAS PUTTING THEM ALL IN DANGER, AND THEY KICKED ME OUT!!!!!"
"Rei, I didn't have anything to do with that!"
"Just like you had nothing to do with Darien..?"
"I CAN'T HELP THE WAY I FEEL AND APPERENTLY NEITHER CAN HE!!"
Rei raised her hand to slap Serena again, but it never connected. A strong arm grabbed her before she could hit Serena a second time.
"Darien!"
Rei said his name in surprise.
"Don't ever touch her like that again"
"but, I...I"
Darien let go of Rei's arm and stroked a tear from Serena's face. She looked up at him visibly shaken, and pushed through him and Rei and ran out of the arcade.
"Serena...SERENA WAIT!!!"
Darien took off running after Serena, leaving a stunned Rei behind to Andrew's care. Serena was crying so hard that she couldn't see where she was going. She had left her coat at the arcade her whole body was wet and becoming numb. She was running across a busy intersection when she saw headlights and heard the horn of car that was entirely too close honking. She thought she was done for when she felt his arm around her, and her body being knocked away from the immediate danger.
"YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL SERENA YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN KILLED!!!"
She just looked at him with the ocean welling up once again in her eyes. He was suddenly aware of how cold she was. He helped her to her feet and walked to his apartment, the whole time hoping she would say something. When he got there he took a towel from his closet, and began to dry of the wet Serena.
"Are you OK?"
She just nodded with her eyes towards her hands sitting in her lap. All that was left visible was her shacking body. Darien left and then came back with a shirt.
"I don't have anything that'll fit you, but my shirt should be pretty long on you...you have to et out of those clothes or else you won't warm up"
She slowly reached for his shirt and laid it down next to her on the bed.
"I'll go and make some tea while you change"
Darien left the room and went to the kitchen to make them some warm tea. He wasn't showing it as much as Serena was, but he had left his umbrella in the arcade when he went after her, and he was freezing too. He started the tea and went into his bathroom to dry off and change, when he heard the teakettle whistle he hurried to the kitchen knowing that hot tea would warm both him and Serena. he prepared the tea and walked back into his bedroom. Serena was sitting on the bed like she was before, her school uniform was in a neat pile on the floor, and she was wearing Darien's shirt. He was right, it was pretty long on her, and it seemed to engulf her small frame in it's cottony folds, but it was still too far up her legs not to be slightly enticing. Darien gulped hard when he saw her.
"The tea is ready"
He pushed a cup of hot tea towards her and she lifted it, still so cold she was shaking. She was beginning to worry Darien, she hadn't said a word since she got there, and she was still so cold.
"Serena are you OK?...Come on meatball head say something to me"
He stopped kidding around when he saw tears falling in her lap. He stood up from his place on the floor and sat down on the bad next to her.
"Serena..."
She sad nothing
"Serena look at me...please"
she slowly met her eyes with his gaze.
"Serena..."
"Why?...I don't understand why"
Tears were falling freely from her sky blue eyes
"Serena..."
"Why did you kiss me that day?"
"I don't know I just"
"Rei hates me now"
"Everything'll be OK between you two just wait"
She held her hand to the spot where Rei had slapped her, Darien's hand soon covered hers.
"Serena I don't know who you are, I don't know who I am anymore, but I do know that I care about you...Serena I love you, I always have loved...
"Darien...I..."
"But I don't know what's going on, because I had the same feelings for Sailor Moon, it was like...it was like she was you...."
There was a long pause after that. Serena didn't say anything, she just looked at his eyes, that beautiful blue pool of mystery that had pulled her in the first time they met. She knew she should pretend she was offended about the whole 'I'm in love with Sailor Moon' thing, but she couldn't. The fact he loved both of her forms just made her feel like it was really meant to be, he knew who she was without even knowing.
"Darien, you don't know everything about me, you can't love me"
"I know all I need to know Serena"
Serena stood up from the bed and walked to a window on the other side of the room gazing out on the world below, the world that couldn't touch her right now.
"You don't know everything..."
She felt him behind her whispering in her ear.
"I know you're special, there's something important you're supposed to do on earth...I know you would never let harm come to those you love..."
His warm breath on her cold skin was tantalizing. She closed her eyes and took in the closeness of his body.
"I know, somehow...I'm not sure how, but I know that a long time ago you died for me...
Serena's eyes shot open at his words.
"You died for me too...I remember"
His arms came around her body holding her close to his chest, she was still so cold.
"You were a prince...Endymion...Darien what's happening to me, why am I remembering all this stuff?"
"I don't know, I don't know why I remembered it, only that it's important that we do remember"
Darien held her closer hoping it would calm the shivering of her body.
"You're so cold..."
He kissed her on the back of her neck without thinking, but he was pleased when she didn't push him away. She only spoke his name softly in response.
"And you were a princess, just as beautiful as you are now, were engaged to be married, but something tore us apart"
"Queen Barrel...she told you she would spare your life if you would rule by her side, but you refused"
"I would never trade our love for my life"
Serena turned to look at him. The world was silent, they couldn't hear the bustle of the world around them; there was only silence. Darien brushed a strand of golden hair from her wet lips before taking part in them. He kissed her softly loving the way his kiss made her knees visibly weak. When he stopped, she looked up at him with red cheeks and a nervous smile on her face.
"You're shivering"
"Yeah, I left my umbrella at the arcade so..."
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have ran from you"
"It's OK, it isn't your fault...I chose to come after you"
"I'm glad you did"
"So am I..."
Serena suddenly had an urge to yawn, and felt a little embarrassed when it escaped her mouth loudly. Darien just smiled at her embarrassment.
"Gee meatball head you could have put a truck in your mouth!"
Serena's cheeks turned tomato red.
"I'm just kidding, are you tired?"
"A little..."
He took her to the bed and tucked her in before kissing her forehead and beginning to leave the room.
"Where are you going, Darien?"
"I'm just going to the other room, I'll take the couch tonight."
"Darien, I...will you stay here...with me?"
Darien looked surprised, but smiled.
"Let me go change, and I'll be right back"
When he came back into the room he had on an undershirt and a pair of boxers. Serena blushed when she noticed how much skin his night clothing showed. She pretended to be asleep when he crept into the bed next to her, and put his arm around her waist pulling her closer to him. She was still a little chilly, and Darien wanted to keep her warm, so he slowly pulled her closer to his body, waiting for any indication that she objected to the closeness. He was pleased when she turned to put her head on his chest.
"Serena...Serena I know you're awake..."
"Yes?"
"Are you comfortable?"
"Yes *yawn*"
"I just wanted to make sure you were OK"
"Darien?"
"Yes?"
"I love you"
"I love you too meatball head"
She smiled at the nickname he had given her the first time they met. When she finally closed her eyes, the mixture of Darien's warmth, and the sweet smell of roses on his body quickly put her to sleep. Darien's fatigue finally overcame him when he saw Serena was resting peacefully. The fact she was safe in his arms relaxed him to the point of unconscious dreams of a fairy tale time when they were unbreakable.
THE END of Part Four. It seems that this isn't going to be the last one in this series, but hopefully the next one will be, I'm pretty sure it will be, so STAY TUNED FOR THE LAST INSTALMENT OF ....."PAST LIFE"
