Past Life Part Five

This should be the last part of this series. There is no real ending, but I hope the way I end it makes sense. If it doesn't, I'll explain in the end.
Wide Awake
Darien awoke the next morning to the sound of knocking at his door. He looked down at the still sleeping Serena, lovingly in his arms, before rising to throw on a pair of pants and answer the door.
"Hey Darien, can we talk?"
Darien was surprised to find Rei on the other side of his door, especially since Serena was in his bedroom, in his shirt, ON HIS BED.
"Uh...sure"
He reluctantly agreed.
"Well it's about what happened yesterday...I...I'm sorry"
Darien smiled at her, relived that she was finally coming to her senses.
"It's ok, but you should really be apologizing to Serena. She was really hurt over the whole ordeal"
"I know, but I don't even know if I can bring myself to speak to her now, not after the way I acted"
Rei was now pacing nervously back and forth in his living room. The fact that she kept walking past Darien's slightly cracked bedroom door was making Darien frantic. 'What will she do if she notices Serena in there!?'
"Hey Rei why don't you take a seat over here"
He motioned towards the couched across from him.
"Sorry, I'm pacing I know"
She sat down across from him. She was looking down at her lap afraid to make eye contact with the man she had caused so much grief over. When she finally looked up, she realized he was hiding something.
"Hey Darien, you wouldn't happen to be hiding something from me would you?"
"WHAT!? Of course not!"
He was worried now, those priestess powers she had were coming in handy at the wrong time. She knew for sure now that he was hiding something. His response was too flustered...Darien was never flustered. She got up and started walking around the room again.
"You know Darien it's none of my business, but..."
Darien involuntarily looked in the direction of his bedroom, and immediately regretted it. He knew instantly that she saw his half-second glance. He looked in the direction of his bedroom. I saw it! What could he be hiding in there? He wouldn't...'
"Darien, you wouldn't be hiding some girl in there would you, because if you are, I'm going to HAVE TO TAKE REVENGE ON BEHAFE OF...."
"Darien...where are you?"
"Serena!?"
Serena walked out of Darien's bedroom still rubbing her sleepy eyes, when she saw Rei standing in front of her with the same look of shock on her face that she must have had on her own face. The only thing going through Darien's head was 'BUSTED'
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to apologize to Darien, what are you doing here?"
"I...I uh...um...Hey Darien what's for lunch!?"
"Good idea, what would you like?"
They both had these stupid 'lets change the subject quick looks on their faces. Rei found the whole thing entirely too amusing.
"So what did you guys do last night, huh?"
She had this devilish look on her face that no one but her could ever make. She new she shouldn't be barging into their personal lives, but she just couldn't resists.
"We uh...read...a lot"
"Darien Serena doesn't read anything but comic books"
"Yeah, he likes Sailor V too, I was just as surprised as you are"
Darien was fumbling around his kitchen with a clumsiness that he never thought he had, Serena soon joined in with the fumbling. They both stopped when they heard Rei burst out laughing.
"HAHAHAHA You two are so silly! It's ok relax, I don't want to know what you two did last night, especially with the way your acting"
Serena was happy to hear her friend laugh again, she hadn't heard it for so long.
"So are you finally going to admit you were wrong?"
"Yeah, Serena I'm sorry I was being..."
"A brat?"
"Yeah, I...I shouldn't have gotten so jealous"
"So what changed your mind?"
"Chad...we were talking and I realized, I wasn't upset because of Darien, I was just jealous of you"
"So you were jealous of me huh?"
Darien was smiling at Serena's new happiness. He felt warm watching her happiness.
"So you and Darien are a couple now huh?"
Darien and Serena both began to blush.
"SO...where's that skillet, Darien?"
Rei chuckled to herself at her two friends in front of her.
"Well I gotta go, so you two can stop pretend cooking now"
They blushed again.
"Serena, don't stay too long OK, we need ya at the temple by eight"
"OK, I'll be there...bye Rei"
"Bye"
"I'll se you two love birds later"
She winked as if she was hinting at the punch line to an inside joke, and left the apartment, closing the door behind her.
"I thought she was going to flip out seeing you here with me"
"I did too..."
"I'm glad you guys are on speaking terms now"
"I know...Darien what time is it?"
"It's...OH SHIT, IT'S 3:30!!!!"
"OH NOOOO MY PARENTS MUST BE BUGGIN OUT!!!...I gotta go Darien"
"Yeah, I know"
The disappointment in his voice was obvious. She was almost to the door when she stopped and turned to him.
"Darien...I love you"
He smiled and took her in his arms, kissing her on her forehead.
"I love you too"
Serena savored the warmth of his touch for a few more seconds before tearing herself away, and making a mad dash for her house.
When she got home, her mother was on the couch with the telephone in her hand.
"SERENA! You know you could have called!!"
"Uh...?"
"We were all worried sick about you! You could have at least called to tell us you were sleeping over Rei's house"
"uh..oh,oh yeah I'm sorry about that mom"
"Sorry isn't good enough, Sammy and your father are out looking for you right now, I should have called Rei earlier to save them time"
"I'm really sorry mom"
"Oh! I'm just so glad you're ok"
Serena's mother wrapped Serena in her arms and held on to her tightly. Serena was glad that her mother was too relieved to remember to ground her.
"Yeah mom, well I have to go change"
She ran upstairs as fast as she could worried that if she stayed downstairs too long, her mother's memory would come back. When she got into her room, Luna was sitting on the bed waiting for her.
"And where were you? And don't tell me you were with Rei, I know that's a lie"
"I was with Darien ok?"
"And just what were you doing over there, I thought you hated him"
"After that fight with Rei, I ran away, it was cold and raining, I almost got hit by a car and Darien saved me. He took me back to the apartment to get me warm, and I guess I just fell asleep"
"You guess you just fell asleep?"
"OK, I fell asleep in his bed and didn't wake up until like twenty minutes ago"
"So where did he sleep?"
"He slept on the couch the whole night"
Luna could tell she was lying, but she decided not to press the subject further. Serena jumped into the shower and came out ten minutes later, and got dressed in record time.
"Where are you going in such a hurry? you just got here?"
"I'm going back over to Darien's"
"Can't stay away can you?"
"what was that Luna?"
"Oh, nothing"
"Well, it's four-thirty right now, and I have to be a the temple by eight, so I have to hurry so I can talk to Darien"
Serena was already almost out the door.
"Don't be late to the shrine"
"OK Luna"
Serena was out the door and going in the direction of Darien's apartment. She had been walking for about ten minutes when she saw him coming from the opposite direction.
"Hey meatball head, where ya headed?"
"Well actually, I was heading to your apartment, how about you"
"I was headed to you house"
They both blushed. There was a flash of light from somewhere high above them.
"What was that?"
"I don't know, Serena"
Serena looked into the sky and saw a black energy engulfing Tokyo Tower. 'The negaverese!'
"Darien I have to go, I'll see you later"
Darien was glad that she left, he didn't have to find an excuse to leave her now. He also saw the black energy that Serena had seen, and like any super hero, he was going to fight the negaverse too. Serena had been on the elevator to the top o Tokyo Tower for about two seconds before it stopped, and Darien stepped in.
"What are you doing here!?"
"What are you doing here?"
Darien tried to stop the elevator, so he could make Serena get off, but the buttons wouldn't work.
"What's going on?"
"Serena, whatever happens I want you to stay out of the way"
"What!?"
Just then the elevator started moving at a ridiculous speed, towards the top of the tower.
"Darien...I have to get you out of here"
"Uh?"
"Look, there's someone in there"
The voice came from above them, Serena recognized it; Malachite. 'I have no choice but to transform'
"KILL THEM!"
"Oh no you don't, Moon Prism POWER!!!!"
Darien could do nothing but stare in disbelief as Serena was engulfed in brilliant pink and white light.
"It's you...you're her...Serena's Sailor Moon!!"
It made since now, everything. Why he was in love with her and Sailor Moon, they were one in the same. He was in love with the Pretty Sailor Suited Soldier Sailor Moon
"Get ready to pay Nega-sleeze, you messed with the wrong girl, I will fight wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you"
"You can't do anything to us down there Sailor Trash"
"Just wait until I..."
A sharp ice crystal sliced through the air towards Serena, too quick for her to dodge it, but it never hit her. A rose knocked the ice from it's path right before it sliced through her arm.
"Tuxedo...Mask?"
It was Serena's turn to be amazed. She watched as her annoying Darien, became the ever so cool and romantic Tuxedo Mask.
"no wonder I always thought you were so hot"
"Are you ready to fight, Sailor Moon?"
She snapped out of her daze.
"Right, let's go!"
Tuxedo Mask ally ooped Sailor Moon out of the elevator shaft, and into the room where Malachite waited for them. Tuxedo Mask soon followed behind her out of the elevator shaft.
"Let's go you bleached nega-slime"
"Do not play with me little girl, you'll loose every time"
He let an energy burst come from his hands. Sailor Moon narrowly avoided the attack.
"I know you can take her alone my love, but two to one just isn't fair, let me help"
Zoicite appeared out of nowhere, Tuxedo Mask took her on. Somehow during the fight, Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask switched enemies. Zoicite made a crucial mistake.
"Gotcha, Moon Tiara MAGIC!!!!"
"AHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Malachite froze when he heard the scream of his only love.
"Nooo Zoicite, I'll have my revenge Sailor Moon"
Sailor Moon froze when she saw the energy blast coming towards her, there was no way she could avoid the attack.
"Sailor MOOOON!!!!!"
Tuxedo Mask shielded her just in time to save her life, but not his own. The other sailor scouts made it into the tower at the moment he fell. Sailor Moon knew they were there, but she didn't care.
"Tuxedo Mask!!"
She fell to the ground cradling his head in her arms. Malachite tried to attack her again, but he was thrown back by a white light that engulfed Sailor Moon, when the light was gone, only princess Serena remained.
"I remember now my love, I'm awake"
"I remember too, Princess Serena"
The scouts starred at the site in front of them.
"Sailor Moon is...the Moon Princess!?"
"I remember no Prince Darien, we were in love a long time ago"
"IT was a forbidden love, Earthlings were not to love the people of the moon, but we didn't care we loved each other too much"
"Yes, we were happy then, until the negaverse came, she...Queen Beryl took you away from me"
Tears began to swell in her eyes.
"Darien don't leave me again, we just found each other, you can't leave me...it can't end like this"
The scouts watched in shock. Darien, Tuxedo Mask, Serena...the Moon Princess, it was all too much for them. A single tear fell from Serena's eye, and the scouts were amazed when it turned into the silver crystal they had searched for so long. The white light that surrounded her became bright one last time. When the light subsided, Sailor Moon remained.
"Darien, don't go"
He smiled weakly before his eyes closed, and he fell limp in her arms.
"SAILOR MOON...DIE!!!!"
Malachite shot another energy wave at her. The scouts pulled her away from Darien before it could hit her.
"NO, let me go to him!"
"Sailor Moon, we have to get out of here, stop fighting us!"
"NO, DARIEN!!!"
Malachite picked up the fallen Prince.
"Let him go!"
The scouts tried to stop him, but his energy blast were just too strong. Sailor Moon could do nothing, but watch as her enemy disappeared into darkness with the man she loved. She had just found him, and now he was gone. She new their past life together now, but she couldn't share her memories with him.
"Darien..."
The scouts tried to comfort her as she wept oceans into her hands.
"It'll be ok Sailor Moon, we'll get him back"
"Rei I..."
Her friend put her arms around her.
"It's ok Serena, we'll get him back.
The End
Ok this is the explanation of the end if you didn't get it. It was a modified version of what happened when Darien was first taken by the negaverse, right after Serena and Darien found out who each other were. If you're a real Moonie, then you'll know what I'm talking about. I hope you liked it ^_~
