Awake
The whole time he was in class, he couldn't concentrate, he had always been a great student, but today his thoughts were preoccupied. 'Endymion. . .she called me Endymion. Maybe it is just a dream, but it was so...'
"Mr. Shields do you think you could towards the front of the class room so at least I can Pretend you're paying attention"
"I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again"
The class was full of whispered chuckles as Darien slouched in his seat, a little embarrassed.

"I am not jealous Rei!"
"Yeah you are, meatball head. You're mad because I got the hottest guy in Japan"
"He doesn't even think it's a date Rei"
"He will when I put these pouty lips to his"
Serena moaned in disgust
"Well anyway, I have to get ready for my date with Mr. Hotty, so I'll have to talk to you later"
"Be careful what you wear, between you throwing yourself at him and you skimpy clothing, he may get the wrong idea"
Rei stuck her tongue out at Serena
"Jealousy is ugly on you ya know"
With that Rei ran into the shrine to get ready for her date, and Serena walked down the steps to back towards her house. She was sitting around the house watching old Sailor V episodes when she finally decided to go for a walk.
"I just don't get it, why would she want him, of all the guys on earth she picks him"
She began her walk throughout Tokyo with thoughts of just how good Rei and Darien's date was going.

"Are you tired of rowing yet?. . .Darien? . . .Hey Earth to Darien!"
"Hm?...oh, no I'm fine"
She had picked this great romantic lake for them to row on hoping that it would give them a chance to be alone, but he had been like this the time they were out! He was quiet like he was thinking about something. He looked at Rei twice the whole time they were together
"I'm sorry Rei I haven't been good company at all"
"Oh, no it's OK, you have something important on your mind, I understand"
He smiled at her and continued to row. She wondered what was bothering him so much that he was winning an award for world's best mute actor.
"Darien?"
"yeah?"
"What's bothering you so much?"
He turned to look at her. She was genuinely worried. He felt like he owed her some sort of explanation, so he began to tell her everything.
"If I tell you, you have to promise you won't think I'm crazy"
"cross my hear hope to die"
"I've been having this dream for the past year, there's this girl and she keeps telling me I have to do something, this something is important, but I can never tell who she is, but a hit my head and..."
"Yeah, how did you do that anyway?"
"Fell down the stairs to my apartment"
"Funny, you don't strike me as the clumsy type...I'M SORRY continue with your dream"
"Well, after I hit my head, the dream is clearer some how, and I can see the girl in the dream, but . . .I don't remember who she is when I wake up"
"Sounds to me like I've been haunting your dreams"
She was hoping that would get his attention, but he didn't even hear her, he was starring of into space. . .no, he was looking for something.
He felt it, her presence. He didn't know who she was, but he knew they were linked, and he knew she was close. . .
"Darien?"
"I can feel her. . ."
Rei didn't know how to react to that so she laughed it off best she could.
"hahaha oh Darien your so silly"
Serena was walking over a bridge when she had the sudden urge to look out over the water. When she did, she wished that she hadn't. Rei and Darien were in a boat on the lake, which was one of the most romantic spots in the city. Serena didn't know what bothered her more, the fact that the lake was so romantic, or the fact that Rei seemed to be having a good time, judging by her laughter. Serena tore herself from the scene and speed walked the rest of the way back to her house.
"What's wrong with her anyway, he's SUCH A JERK! And I know she's going to call me tonight bragging about just how cute he looked, and how sweet he was, and oh we had SUCH a great time I can't believe he would agree to go out with her, he doesn't even like her! . . .maybe he does. . .WHY DO I CARE!? I'm not jealous or anything, I mean it's not like I like him. HE IS SUCH A JERK! When Serena got home, it was getting dark and she didn't want to do anything else but go to sleep. Just as she was getting into the bed the phone rang.
"hello?"
"OHMYGOD SERENA my date went so well, he totally digs me I know he does!"
"Rei I'm tired I . . ."
"He told me about this dream he had about me and how much fun he was having with me and . . .hello?. . .Serena?"
"yeah?"
"Serena what's wrong, you still jealous?"
"Rei I had a really bad day, can I talk to you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, sure meatball head, I hope you feel better"
"Thanks"
"Goodnight"
"Goodnight"
Rei got off the phone wondering if her retelling of her date was what bothered Serena so deeply. That date would make any girl jealous, that's why she decided not to tell the girls her real date.
"He wasn't into me at all..."
"Serena was lying on her bed thinking to herself about the situation with Darien and Rei. She couldn't figure out why, but she was slightly obsessed.
"Why do I feel so betrayed?"
She began to realize her true feelings before burying them deeper than they had been before. 'why does he draw me in so much, like we were meant to be...together? NO he's just a stupid jerk that is totally rude and I rather have Andrew any day.'
"He couldn't figure it out, he felt her so strongly when he was on the lake, like she was pulling his eyes towards her, but he just couldn't find where she was pulling him to.
"I have to be at the arcade tomorrow. . ."
He didn't know why, but he knew if he went there, he could stir whatever it was sleeping inside of him.
"Serena's day was going waaay better than day before, she went back to the arcade with her friends, and instead of the boy craziness they normally have to go through, all the girls were racing each other on arcade games.
"You guys aren't chasing after Andrew like you normally do, what's going on!?"
"Well, Rei Mina and I decided to give Andrew a break, but just for today"
Serena laughed to herself when she saw Darien walk in out of the corner of her eye. She instantly frowned but decided to pretend that she didn't see him. Her pretending was cut short by Rei's excitement.
"Look, there he is, he must have known I would be here today"
"Do you think it's at all possible he came to see his friend Andrew?" Serena said with as much spite as possible.
"Play it cool Hino, let him come to you"
Darien didn't even notice the girls when he walked in. He came in and did what he came to do, talk to Andrew, and wait.
"So did you do what I told you to do?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Did you look at Serena like I told you to?"
"oh, no I haven't even seen her since that day"
"Well, she's sitting right over there"
Andrew pointed to a row of racing games across from them, and Darien looked at Serena like he was told.
"So?"
"She...She's the one"
"What!?"
Darien began to walk towards Serena
"OHMYGOD! Don't look he's coming over here you guys!"
"Rei calm down, stop being so obvious"
"I'm trying Mina"
Everyone but Serena seemed to be excited along with Rei, she could wait to hear the 'HEY MEATBALL HEAD!' come out of his mouth. She diverted her eyes to the video game and ignored everything else around her.
"Oh, hi Darien I didn't even see you there..."
That was all Serena heard before a strong hand firmly grasped her wrist and pulled her out of her seat.
"Who are you?"
"Darien you jerk let me go!"
"There's something about all of you, but you. . .there's something more"
"DARIEN!!"
She tried to slap him with her other hand, but he caught it midair and forced her to look into his eyes. Everything around her became silent, she didn't hear Andrew asking Darien what was wrong and yelling at him to let go of her, she didn't feel the tugging of hands on her hands as they tried to pull Darien�s grasp from her wrist, all she saw was the deep blue of his eyes.
"Who are you really, Serena?"
She swallowed hard as his lips brushed up against her on. Her eyes where closed now, she was dizzy.
"Tell me why I love you Serena"
"Darien LET GO OF HER!"
He suddenly snapped back to reality.
"Se...Serena?"
She was breathing as hard as her heart was beating, she couldn't make it stop
"I..I'm sorry...I don't know...I gotta go"
He let go of Serena's wrist and backed away from the scene unsure of what exactly had happened.
"Serena are you OK?" Andrew asked
"He wasn't trying to hurt me"
"You must have done something to make him go over the deep end like that Serena, what did you do!?" Rei was yelling at Serena, pissed of at her because his lips found Serena's and not her own.
"I didn't do anything, Rei"
"YOU MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING!"
"Rei, calm down it wasn't her fault" Said Lita
"Yes it was, she always messes up something
"Rei I didn't do anything!"
Serena was shaking now, she was worried about Rei's feelings, but that kiss, that kiss was so familiar, so gentle, so right.
"REI! Stop blaming her because you didn't get the guy you want!"
Rei turned and looked at Mina and let the harsh words she had spoken sink into her head. She then turned and ran from the arcade, tears running from her eyes.
"Rei, Wait!!"
Serena called out to her friend that was soon out of eye sight.
Andrew starred off into space thinking about whole situation.
"I just don't know why he would flip out like that"

Serena was home now, she had called Rei ten times, but she wouldn't talk to her. At first she didn't answer the phone, then she had Chad tell her that she didn't want to talk to her. Serena didn't know what to do, she needed to reconcile things with Rei, but she wasn't even talking to her. Why had Darien...Darien...Everything he said was true, she was different, she was the Sailor Soldier of the Moon. She was the living reincarnation of a myth, a mystical soldier with special powers and a mission to save the world. He was right, but how did he know? And he...he said he loved her.
"Penny for your thoughts Serena"
"Oh, Luna you startled me, where have been lately anyway, I haven't seen you around"
"You're trying to change the subject, what happened tonight"
"I don't want to talk about it..."
"Serena talk to me about what happened, if you don't then I'll just find out from the girls tomorrow"
"Non of the girls will want to talk about it either"
"I'll just ask Ami"
"She wasn't there, she was studying for that test again"
"Then I'll just ask Mina, she's the biggest gossip in town!"
Luna had a point. Mina had probably already told Artemis what had happened, so if Luna didn't hear it from her or Mina, she would definitely hear it from Artemis, but she didn't care who she heard it from as long as she didn't have to tell her.
"I'm not talking Luna now let me sleep"
"Fine Serena don't feel your guardian in, I'll just find out tomorrow"
Serena ignored the last part and tried to sleep, but she couldn't. Every time she closed her eyes she felt Darien's lips on hers, and every time she drifted to sleep, she dreamed of a world too real to be a figment of her imagination. She wished she was with him...

Darien still couldn't figure out what had happened the day before, it was like everything around him went dark, and Serena was the only thing he saw, but he really saw her for the first time.
"Serena..."
He was in love with her, he knew it now, he had always loved her, but he didn't understand it so he pushed her away. Oh, man Rei must be pissed at me, I should go talk to her today. He got up and got ready to walk to Rei's shrine, when he got there Rei was surprisingly happy to see him.
"Hey Darien, how are you feeling today?"
"I...I'm fine, how about you"
"I'm great!"
"Rei, I need to talk to you about..."
"It's ok, it wasn't your fault, I mean I know Serena probably did..."
"Serena didn't do anything, it wasn't her fault"
Rei was suddenly somber. She sad nothing, she just looked away from Darien until she suddenly turned around and started yelling at him.
"WHY DID YOUGO OUT WITH ME WHEN YOU LIKED SERENA!?!"
"Rei I didn't know. . ."
"HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW YOU LIKE SOMEONE ELSE!?"
"I...I don't know, I can't explain it, but something, I'm remembering something, and. . .Rei I'm in love with her, I can't explain it, but ...we loved each other before..."
"She doesn't even like you! and if you felt that way about her before, why didn't...
"No I don't mean before I went out with you, I mean before..."
"WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSSED TO MEAN!?"
"another life..."
He said it out loud, but he was saying it more to himself than anyone else around.
"What...?"
Another life? who is this guy really. She didn't care to answer that question, she was too upset at Darien and Serena.
"Just, just leave"
"Rei, just don't be mad at Serena it wasn't her fault"
"I thought I told you to leave"
Darien starred at Rei's back as she walked back into the shrine. He felt really bad about what happened. Rei was pissed at him, but worse than that she was pissed at Serena. He had been walking for a long time when he started to get that feeling like he was needed again. He ran into the direction of the fight turning into his alter ego on the way.
"Sailor Mercury!"
"I'm on it!...Mercury bubbles SPRAY!!"
"Venus crescent beam SMASH!!"
"Look out you guys!!!"
"Mars cover Sailor Moon!"
"I heard you the first ten times Lita!"
"Moon Tiar....AHHHHHH"
"Sailor Moon"
She was hit and she wasn't moving.
"Sailor MOON!!!!!" All the girls screamed for her.
"Sailor Moon!!"
The girls looked up to see Tuxedo Mask jumping from a nearby tree to Sailor Moon's side
"She just gets everyone"
"Mars leave your anger for when we aren't fighting. NOW FIGHT!!!" Mina was beginning to get annoyed, Rei's anger at Serena was going to get them all killed. She already failed to protect Sailor Moon who was the only one with a weapon that could take this monster out.
"Tuxedo Mask how is she?"
"She's out cold Ami"
The scouts all froze...
"AMI!?" All three girls said at the same time with matching surprise. Tuxedo Mask knows who we are?
"I mean Mercury, pay attention to what you're doing!"
They all narrowly escaped a flaming fire ball it through at them.
"I got a plan, MERCURY use your bubbles again"
"Right Lita...Mercury bubbles SPRAY!!!"
"Jupiter jumped up behind the monster.
"Mina, Rei NOW!!!"
"Jupiter Thunder..."
"Mars Fire..."
"Venus Cresent Beam...."
"Crash!!!"
"IGNITE!!!"
"Smash!!!!"
The combination of the three attacks was enough to destroy the monster, but the girls were severely drained. Mina began to speak with her eyes still closed.
"Tuxedo Mask is she awake yet?...Tuxedo Mask?
She opened her eyes and along with the other girls was amazed at what she saw. Tuxedo Mask was gone, and so was SAILOR MOON!!

When Sailor Moon woke up, she found herself in an apartment on a soft bed. She slowly looked around the room and found to be immaculately clean. The carpet had not one piece of lint, the counter tops had no dirt on them, the apartment was too clean, she knew whoever lived here lived alone, and they didn't stay here very often.
She tried to get up, but her head was pounding and she felt too dizzy to stand, but she tried anyway
Darien was in the kitchen making something to eat when he heard the thud of something soft hitting the floor. He immediately ran into his bedroom to see what had happened. When he got there he saw the pretty soldier of love justice on his floor holding her head between her hands. He knelt down beside her to pick her up when she looked at him.
"Darien!?"
"How...how do you know who I am?"
She quickly covered her tracks.
"I'm a Sailor Scout, we know everything"
He didn't buy it, the way she said his name sounded too familiar, and he knew he knew who she was, but he couldn't quite see it.
"How did I get here?"
He picked her up and laid her down back into his bed.
"The last thing I remember is Tuxedo Mask calling my name"
"Tuxedo Mask is a friend of mine, he brought you here and asked me to take care of you and I agreed"
"Oh..."
she grabbed her head in pain.
"Does your head hurt?"
"No I'm OK"
He could tell she was lying, and he left the room only to reappear with aspirin and water.
"Take these"
She looked at him for a second and took the water and medication from his hands. When she looked back up, Darien's hands were stroking stray strands of hair from her face. He was so warm. . .
"You remind me of this girl I know, she's just like you"
"What do you...uh mean?"
"She's stronger than she knows herself, and she has something inside of her that she doesn't know is there, but it's there"
"Sailor Moon was starring into his eyes. The girls were right, he was absolutely gorgeous. His hair was a dark as a raven's wing, and his eyes where as blue as the early morning sky. She was loosing herself in him...
"You're too much like her..."
"what?"
"Nothing, I was just thinking out loud"
She was confused, she didn't know what was happening to her, 'why is my heart beating so fast?'
"Sailor Moon?"
"Yes, do you ever have dreams. . .I mean reoccurring ones?"
"Yeah, sometimes"
"What are they about?"
"Mostly I dream about food and video games and stuff, you know happy things...but sometimes, I have this dream that I'm a princess and I have to find my prince, it's the only one that seems...real, I must sound so dumb talking about princes and princesses"
"No, it doesn't sound strange at all, it sounds like a beautiful dream"
He was looking into her eyes now, inches from her face. She was trapped in him, he could tell, but he was trapped in her as well.
"Sailor Moon, I know you don't I?"
Serena jumped out of her daze at Darien's question
"I...I have to go"
She rose from the bed and ignored the throbbing in her head, but she couldn't overcome the dizziness. She was falling, when she felt his arms around her shoulders.
"You should wait until you can stand at least"
She turned slowly to face him, and called out a name that seemed to come from a distant memory.
"Endymion..."
Darien froze too confused to react. The name scared Serena, she didn't know why, but she was seeing who he really was for the first time, she was awakening now, but she was unwilling to awaken.
"I...I have to go"
"Sailor Moon wait"
His voice faltered behind her as she jumped from the window of his apartment, and ran back to her house and away from the memories that were clouding her mind.
