A  NICE  COP :
While sitting in the park the other day, a policeman pulled up and walked over to me.  He smiled, asked me how I was doing, and before leaving he told me not to give up hope. He said, " you have to focus on the good things and try to accomplish personal goals that you set for yourself." " If you keep trying and never give up, you'll always win in the longrun."  " We really want to help, but we need to know you are willing to help yourselves." He smiled once more, turned and walked away. I have been seriousely thinking about my life and what I am going to do with it, since I met the strange, kind, police officer the other day in the park.   I  THANK  YOU
WHAT  WOULD  YOU  WANT  PEOPLE  WITH  HOMES  TO  KNOW  ABOUT  BEING  HOMELESS ?
Tony: You don't know what you've got till its gone.
Judy: I used to be homeless, but now I have a home.  Please help the homeless?
Paul  and  Dawn: It would be nice if people weren't so judgemental and showed a little more compassion towards their fellow man.
Wayne: Without a home, you don't have any privacy to get away from the elements and other people.
Raymond: People who have homes are fortunate to have them.  I'm struggling to keep my family in a home right now.  But I am staying at the mission myself.
Rod: People with homes can go to the bathroom and get a drink of water when  they want to. If you're homeless, alot of  businesses won't let you use their restrooms unless you buy something. So if you're broke, you're out of luck. There aren't very many water fountains to be found either, so you get very thirsty and dehydrated sometimes.
Ron: All homeless arent bad.  They are not all drunks or druggies or theives.  Some homeless have good oral hygene.
Derrick: I would like them to lose their home for 30 days to see how it feels to be looked down upon.
The other day, someone said to me that homeless people smell bad.  I politely said, "not the ones that go to the mission." The mission has central air, clean beds, excellent dinners, showers with clean clothes, and church service every night.  The mission really does help people. What would we do without the mission?
