HI  I'M  HOMELESS NEWSPAPER
04/07/04           FOUNDER: James Flaherty          ESTABLISHED: 06/14/03
Hi I'm Homeless and my name is Stan.  My childhood was totally beautiful
I spent every day with my father.  We worked together all the time.  We went hunting
and fishing as often as possible, and this was the best time of my life.  Early in the
morning I would always eat breakfast with my mother.  In the afternoon when I got home from work, my mother and I would go fishing together, (every single day).
When I became a young man, I wanted to get a bicycle to ride.  So my father told me
I could work with him after school, to earn the money for the bicycle.  After time passed, I was finally ready to own my own car.  I kept working with my dad until I saved up the money for the car.

I eventually met a young woman, we moved on a dairy for a while, saved our money, and I built a house.  It was a big house, over 2000 square ft.  We became man and wife, but eventually this led to a divorce.  After a long time being divorced, I met another woman and we we're married.  Her name was Terry.  She became pregnant and gave birth to a little girl.  A wonderful little girl, and her name is Ashley.  She is seventeen years old now, and she is totally beautiful.  She is my best friend.  Terry and I went through a divorce and I became Homeless.  I lost everything I had including my family.  I sold everything to try and help support my family.  I have developed a problem with alcohol but I don't do drugs and I am against drugs totally.  Presently, I am staying at the Mission and I know I am in trouble with my life.  I don't like being at the mission, but it's what I have to do to survive.  There is a lot of food available, and there is shelter for me most of the time, but what I would really like to do is to get my life back together again.

What Would You Want People With Homes To Know  About Being Homeless  ?
Ricky:  Just because you have a home now, doesn't mean you always will.

Sherry:  It's not easy being homeless. I have to pick up cans just to survive.
If we didn't have the Shelter's, we wouldn't have anything to give us hope.

Judy and Adam:  It doesn't take a certain kind of person to be homeless.
We have good morals and respect others.  We would like to have a job too.
We know two lawyers in San Francisco that are now homeless.

Tony:  13 years ago I became homeless.  I've had problems with drugs.  I've seen children and their parents starving with no food.  I've seen robbery's and all sorts of violence.  I've been ripped off many times by other people.  I've lived in bushes with insects crawling in my bedroll.  I live a very painful and stressful life.

Jungle Man:  Being homeless sucks.  You have to have a home to be stable in society.   If store owners know that you are homeless, they pay you less.  Today I worked 4 hours and they payed me $5.00 dollars and two candy bars.
