PEDDLAR TURNS IN PATCH!Peddlar surprised all of us when he took Lizzard aside at Laconia and told him he was turning in his patch! Newlywed Peddlar, who attended the festivities with his new wife, had personal reasons for quitting the Highway Poets.Long a person known for marching to his own and definitely different drummer, he nonetheless was and is the embodiement of a Highway Poet! We will be a poorer organization without his pithy insights and all-around biker wherewithal. He is already sorely missed and I, for one, hope that he'll change his mind one of these days.Another newlywed, of course, is Sir George!I had a chance to visit him and his new bride Cirila, several times this summer. My son Willy and I stayed at their home for several days during the 4th of July and enjoyed George's hospitality during visits to the Big Apple.> Here is Lady Cirila flanked by two Highway Poets, Sir George and me!Last I heard, his father (Popsicle Pop), keeps popping in and out of V.A. hospitals. It seems he had fallen and hurt his hip. The doctors suspected he may have had another stroke; they were wrong. George has installed rails on Pop's bed to prevent him from falling out of it. George will be going to school again in October. He'll be studying computer programming.
