High School "Vukadin Vukadinovic"
Berane

HISTORY

Since its establishment the school has changed the name several times but its aim remained the same - educational activity. Before the Second World War there had been a Night trade school in Berane where the students were taught in shoe making, tailoring, knitting, carpentry and tinsmith and it's, in a way, forerunner of school for students in industry which was founded right after the war in 1946/47 school year. Until 1950 the school had worked as a part of Gymnasium when it became independent school and in its further work it developed and increased the number of vocations and filled up many gaps which existed in vocational education of our region.

The first technical school was opened in Ivangrad in 1961/62 school year and it had two major courses: forestry and wood processing. In 1967 there was an integration of School of students in industry and Technical school and the School Centre was established. The School Centre existed under that title from 1967 to July 21, 1974 when it got its name School Centre "Vukadin Vukadinovic" by the decision of township parliament Ivangrad. As a School Centre it has worked until October 26, when it integrated with Gymnasium “Panto Malisic". Since 1991 it has existed as an independent school.
