CHAPTER 18: FOR THE LOVE OF HER

Yusuke burst inside the warehouse. He halted as he saw the trappings. This wasn’t a warehouse! It looked more like a castle! A scary one at that. Kuwabara and Kurama appeared on the scene. Kuwabara whistled. “Didn’t know warehouses could really be castles inside!” “At least we’ve come to the right place!” Kurama said. He then trained his eyes on the long hall before them Botan could be in any one of them. “Ok! Let’s split up! If one of us finds Botan give out a holler!” Yusuke instructed them. They nodded in agreement. They split up and began to search each and every one of the rooms. After a few minutes of searching Yusuke heard Kuwabara cry out, “Guys over here!” Yusuke quickly rushed to the room where Kuwabara’s voice came from. Kurama was already there. “What? Did you find her?” Yusuke asked him. Kuwabara just nodded still in shock as he pointed in front of him. That was weird. He peered over at Kurama he was gaping too. He followed Kuwabara’s finger. He gasped at what he saw. Botan was engulfed in a passionate kiss with a man in white. “WHAT THE?” Yusuke roared. He pointed his finger at the man that was kissing Botan, ready to blast him in blind rage. “WAIT!” Kurama said pulling Yusuke’s hands down. “You might hurt Botan!” he said tersely. Yusuke stared at his hands as he thought about what he could have done. He felt Kurama’s hand on his shoulder as he smiled understandingly. He nodded with renewed vigor as he approached the two.
“Release her!” Yusuke demanded. Kiyo looked up and saw one of the troublemakers that had killed one of his brothers. What’s his name? Aah Yusuke. He smiled coolly at him. I turned as I heard the sharp voice. “Yusuke!” I gasped my hand flew to my throat. Yusuke turned to her and his mouth dropped to the floor. She was beautiful! She looked like a stunning princess in her golden gown. Yusuke felt his heart beat unexplainably faster as he gaped at her loveliness. “My thoughts exactly.” Kiyo said behind him. Yusuke turned around angrily. “Then you must understand why I must keep her.” Kiyo whispered into Yusuke’s ear. “Let her go Kiyo! She is not a toy!” he said angrily. Kiyo merely snapped his hands and commanded “Sleep.” I suddenly felt sleepy and drifted off to sleep. As she slid to the floor, Yusuke rushed to her, “Botan!” he called out. Kiyo materialized before him. “Nah! uhuh! Not so fast.” Kiyo waggled a finger in his face. “Now it’s just the two of us!” “All right then!” He grinned at his challenge. What was he doing? He was fighting for Botan?! It was crazy but something about it just felt right. He looked over his shoulder and looked at Kurama and Kuwabara. Kurama nodded his understanding while Kuwabara gave him a thumbs-up. He smiled now he was gonna make this bastard sorry for ever touching Botan. He looked in front of him again. He was gone. He had teleported. He stood his ground as he looked around him. “Where am I, boy?” he heard him taunt. He felt a dagger graze his left leg and another on his cheek. He quickly dogged it but not before it scratched him. He laughed menacingly. “Is that all you can do?” he mocked him as he wiped the blood of his cheek. “Why you arrogant fool!” Thrusting forward all his daggers at him. Yusuke anticipated this move and quickly leapt off toward the direction of the shooting daggers. Before Kiyo could even flinch, he socked him on the jaw. Kiyo fell heavily to the ground. He’s a strong one, he thought as he rubbed his sore jaw. Yusuke taking the chance began to punch him at full speed. Kiyo barely managed to avoid all his attacks. “What did you do to her?” Yusuke demanded as he continued to punch at full speed. Kiyo merely smirked still avoiding his attacks. “Why I merely helped her into a realization.” Kiyo answered carelessly. “And what realization is that?” he yelled “That she’s in love with me!” Kiyo said calmly. Yusuke’s fist buried into the wall. WHY? He demanded heavily breathing. “BECAUSE I LOVE HER, STUPID!” Kiyo screamed exasperatedly. Yusuke set off again now he was really mad!!! “You love her?” he said warily as he punched him continuously with renewed strength. Kiyo taken aback by his renewed energy barely dodged his attacks. “How could you say you love her?!!!” He demanded. “You put a spell on her and deceived her and you have the utter gall to say you did it because you love her!!!” he screamed as he felt Kiyo’s stomach and sent him flying. Kiyo crashed into the far wall. This did not look good. Yusuke was on a rampage as he took Kiyo by the front of his shirt and continued to punch him. Kiyo in turn grabbed Yusuke by the shoulders and hurled him off of him. Yusuke merely did a back flip and began charging him again. Punches filled with ki flying everywhere. “You are not worthy to say you love her! I love her but I don’t go around putting spells on her to love me back!” he continued his tirade as he lashed out at Kiyo. “Love that is laced with evil or malice cannot be love at all!” he cried. His fist barely missing Kiyo’s head and landed on the wall instead.
Kurama and Kuwabara were shocked at his outburst. Yusuke loved Botan? They continued to stare on in shock as the two continued to go head to head in battle.
Kiyo was shocked at Yusuke’s fiery words. Yusuke took the chance to deliver his final blow.
I awoke just in time to see Yusuke preparing himself for his final blow to Kiyo. I ran up to them. NO!
Yusuke’s fist stopped in mid-air as he saw Botan in front of him. Her arms spread wide. Her body shielding Kiyo’s. He gritted his teeth. “Step away, Botan.” “NO! Stop this! Yusuke!” I cried. “I- I love him.” I said brokenly. I felt his arms shaking me. “No you don’t! That’s just the effect of his spell!” He said desperation in his voice. He had to break Kiyo’s spell over her! “Look at me Botan!” he said tearfully. He saw tears forming in her eyes and he felt some of his own filling his. “I’m telling you the truth!” he said softly as he let go of her. I stood back confused at what I should do next. Kiyo was the one I loved but Yusuke’s eyes held so much truth in them.
“What is going on in here?!!” a voice suddenly boomed over the room. Kuroi stood at the doorway. Her eyes wide in shock and anger. Kiyo quickly bowed and said, “Forgive me, mistress.” She surveyed the room. It was in shambles. Her eyes fell on Botan. “YOU?!!!” she screamed in utter loathing and rage as she fired a strong fire blast. “NO!” Yusuke screamed his eyes wide with horror as he tried to get to Botan in time but someone beat him to it.
Without even thinking, Kiyo ran in front of Botan. And took the blast for her. He stumbled back and fell into her arms. “Kiyo!” I cried tearfully. One man whom I love had already died now another? Kami, help me! Please no!
All were stunned by Kiyo’s heroic display. It turns out that he truly did love her. Yusuke sadly stood beside his fallen rival. He would be eternally grateful for his selfless act.
Kiyo turned painfully to Yusuke, “And you thought I couldn’t love…” he said quietly. “Take care of her for me, will you?” he said gently. Yusuke nodded his understanding. Now Kiyo turned back to Botan, her beautiful face soaked with tears. He caressed her face gently. She was holding him and crying for him! He would rather die a thousand painful deaths if it meant each one of them were going to be spent with her holding him by her side. “I love you.” Kiyo said slowly. “I’m so sorry!” I sobbed feeling so dumb and useless to let this happen again. And twice in a single day! Kiyo silenced her with a kiss. “I’m not…” Kiyo said life slowly dying in his eyes. KIYO! I screamed.
Yusuke turned his back to them unable to go through that all to familiar scene again. Botan continued to sob into Kiyo’s body.
“My-my! What a stupid waste!” Kuroi said irritatedly. “But he was a stupid one!” she grinned evilly. Her men were dead and she had called them waste? Yusuke stared at her in revulsion. “Don’t look at me like that boy! You might get eye strain!” she purred seductively. But Yusuke was no fool to be suckered into the same trick again. “Quick guys! Close your eyes! And whatever you do don’t look into her eyes!” Yusuke yelled out a warning when no one answered he peeked out. “Guys?” Yusuke facefaults they were already in her power.
“Her eyes they’re so beautiful!” Kurama murmured as he continued to drink in the sight of Kuroi’s pools of purple. “Yeah! So radiant.” Kuwabara responded in a dreamy voice as he too stared at her enchanting lavender eyes. Kuroi smiled seductively as she whispered to them. “Boys, would you do me a favor?” “Yes! Of course, my sweet” Kurama said attentively. “Anything, my love!” Kuwabara drooled. Yeesh. Kuroi thought looking at Kuwabara saliva dripping all over the floor. “Would you kill each other for me? Whoever wins I would surely make it worth his time.” She pouted enticingly.
Kurama and Kuwabara bowed to her and as they met each other’s eyes static bounced off them. They both got ready to fight determined to best the other.
Yusuke stared incredulously as Kurama whipped out his rose whip and Kuwabara his rei ken. His eyes widened at the realization of what they were about to do. They were gonna fight each other to the death. Yusuke ran after them determined to stop their fight but a voice behind him prevented him from doing so. “Where you going boy? You worried about them? Don’t! Worry about me!” she shouted as she fired an ice blast.
I cried hysterically, unaware of the battle going on behind me. My mind was too muddled up crying for Kiyo and Hiei.
Yusuke barely managed to avoid Kuroi’s continuous blasts as he fired his own. “REI GUN!” He shouted. It hit her left arm. “Very good, boy! But not good enough!” she screamed as she fired a fire wave. Yusuke leapt up and landed behind her. “Over here!” he yelled as he fired a rei hadou. Kuroi dodged his wave and countered one of her own. Yusuke was caught by surprise at the unexpected wave. He screamed in pain and agony as the blast hit his chest.
Kuwabara hearing Yusuke’s scream stopped in mid air just as he was about to attack Kurama. He dropped his sword. Kurama also awakened by Yusuke’s scream of pain stopped and abandoned his rose whip as he joined Kuwabara in staring helplessly as Kuroi slithered over Yusuke. They were both too weak to fight her. Kurama looked at their last hope. Botan…
