Chapter six- A new Power

Yusuke winced as he felt a throbbing pain in his head. He’d been whacked pretty good. He looked around to see that beside him Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei were all beginning to get up. Each one was experiencing their own pain. But why were they still alive? Kowaru was stronger than they expected and he could have easily destroyed them. Was someone able to stop him?
"Is everyone okay?" Yusuke asked. He was met with sullen grunts. He looked at the grass ahead of them. His eye caught a fabric of blue. Botan! Suddenly he remembered. Botan! He ran to the figure lying alarmingly still on grass just a few feet ahead of them. Oh! No! Please NO! BOTAN!
"BOTAN! BOTAN!" I hear someone calling my name. I felt so tired but I struggled to open my eyes. I feel someone shaking me and the voice that was calling my name was beginning to sound desperate, so I slowly and painfully opened my eyes. As my vision cleared, I see Yusuke holding me.
“Yusuke…” I smiled. "You’re alright." I said gently, relief washing over me. “I’m alright and so is everyone else.” he said. I lift my head up and see Kurama, Hiei and Kuwabara behind him. But more importantly are *you* alright? Yusuke asked, concern shining in his eyes. I weakly nodded. “I’m just tired that’s all.” I said wearily. With that I drifted off to sleep.
Still with Botan in his arms, Yusuke got up and walked over to the others. “Is she alright?” Kurama asked in concern. “Yeah, she just needs some rest.” Yusuke answered with a smile. “What do you think happened here?” Kuwabara asked. “I don’t know but one thing’s for sure something or someone stopped Kowaru, his you ki isn’t anywhere in this realm” Kurama answered thoughtfully. “The question is who?" Yusuke wondered out loud. “Isn’t it obvious?” Hiei suddenly said. “What?” Kuwabara asked. “She did.” Hiei looked at Botan. “What are you kidding me? You believe that Botan could have the power to defeat the enemy we couldn’t even lay a hand on?” Kuwabara laughed. *Stupid ningen. He doesn’t know the power Botan has within her. He better shut up or I’ll slit his throat * “Hiei is right” Kurama announced. “What you agree with him on this Kurama? What drugs are you on?” Kuwabara said in disbelief. “I can still feel some leftover rei ki from the fight and it is all Botan’s.” K urama answered him coolly. Kuwabara choked. “Whoever trained her must have discovered a sleeping power within her and harnessed it.” Kurama concluded.
Yusuke stared silently at Botan peaceful face. Who knew…
“Mistress! We have lost our brother!” Kina tsu cried in despair. He was defeated by that that girl!” Kairi said disgustedly pointing to the image in the enchanted mirror. A mirror that can let its owner see who or what they want to see. That girl! She will pay!” Kairi’s voice shook with anger. “Don’t worry, my faithful minions I will personally visit her tonight.” Kuroi purred. Her violet eyes flashing. “Where is Kiyo? Why is he missing at a time like this?!” Kina tsu demanded. “He is probably off roaming this horrid place again.” Kairi said in disgust. “Silence! Kuroi shouted , It is feasibly for the best that he is still off sucking souls for me.” Yes, my lady!” they bowed. Kuroi approached the mirror and stroked the image of Botan’s face. “Tonight, my dear girl, you are going to die a slow and painful death!” as she said this she raised her goblet in the air and laughed. And all her minions joined her. Boy, this group loves laughing like complete idiots!
Yusuke gently laid her on his bed and pulled a blanket over her. She had saved them. He smiled. Wow! She was beautiful and she had changed a lot since their last meeting, he thought as the moonlight from his open window gently played on her cheek. He had always known she was strong, she had proven that to him every time she had fearlessly assisted him in his numerous missions but now her strength had grown into that of a warrior. "Good night, Botan and thank you," he whispered into her ear and then he gently kissed her cheek.
“My, my how touching!” A shrill voice said. Yusuke stood up alarmed.
“Who’s there?” Yusuke demanded. The voice laughed irritatingly. “Who are you?” he commanded. “It doesn’t matter who I am, boy said the voice, I am here for the girl!” Yusuke shielded Botan protectively “You won’t harm her not as long as I’m alive, Yusuke growled. “But you see I’m not the one who is going to harm her----, the voice said slowly. A figure stepped out of the darkness. She grinned evilly. You will…
Yusuke raised his eyes to view his opponent. He readied his reigun. He froze suddenly. Those eyes, they were so boundless. You could just lose yourself in them. She smiled and stars exploded in her eyes. The evil spell of her eyes slowly began to grip his mind, he began to sink into oblivion.
She grinned, Now she could have her revenge on this girl that has taken the life of one of her best men. She was going to die a painful death. She was going to die in the hands of her lover.
“Get up!” Kuroi commanded Yusuke. He stood. She grinned evilly and pointed to Botan who was sleeping peacefully on the bed. “Beat her up!” she barked. “Yes mistress!” he answered like a faithful dog.
He grabbed Botan by her shirt. I opened my eyes as I felt a punch hit me in the gut. “Yusuke!” I uttered in surprise and horror as he punched me again. I hear a laugh in the background. “Kowaru?” I questioned the voice it stopped abruptly. “No girl! You have killed my faithful slave! And now you shall die for it at the hands of your lover!” she laughed wickedly. Lover? I see stars as Yusuke punched my cheek. Oh, she thought Yusuke was--- Ooff. Yusuke kicked me. “Yusuke! Fight it! Fight her! I know you can do it” I pleaded desperately. She laughed at my attempts. “Pitiful! He is solely in my control whatever you say, whatever he might have felt towards you is irrelevant. He’s mine now!” She threw her head back and released another bout of her wicked laugh.
