Possession

Part 4

"Koenma-sama!" Botan screamed as a tired and pale Shiori fell into her arms at the temple. The rest were supposed to meet them, but none of them turned up except Shiori. Something was certainly amiss.

Koenma strode in, flustered, in his larger and more handsome form as he held a file out to his subordinate.

"Look, Botan. The youkai Yuusuke fought was an amazing mind-controller and mind-possession-ist. However, Yuusuke is not possessed. He never was possessed." Koenma explained, referring to the information and research filed in his report.

Botan scratched her head as Shiori tried to comprehend whatever they were saying, at the same time tried to find a gap between their words to interrupt with a question about her son.

"Let me continue," Koenma coughed lightly, "to explain that Yuusuke IS Yuusuke. He killed Hiei and Yukina. And Kuwabara soon after. By his own will. The youkai he fought merely tempted his evil side of him to surface."

"We must stop him," Koenma concluded.

"By Enma-daioh-sama!!" Botan exclaimed as she ran out of the temple and flew off on her oar, fearful of what might happen next.

Koenma supported Shiori up lightly on a chair as he tried to comfort her that her son would be all right. He hoped he had not been lying.

Kurama clutched his waist where Yuusuke's Rei hit him. He was not doing well, but Yuusuke was not better than he was. Kurama summoned the plants to form a cage around Yuusuke, enraged by Kuwabara's fall, but calm enough to pinpoint Yuusuke's accupoints with needle-like pines in a split second of distraction. He then hobbled up closer to the now immobile Yuusuke, his clothes soaked in his own and Kuwabara's blood.

Possessed or not, survival for his friends and family were necessary.

The cage around Yuusuke shrunk back to the roots of grass. Kurama gave Yuusuke a hard whack at his vital points, rendering Yuusuke useless for battle...for life.

"Sorry, Yuusuke-kun," Kurama mumbled as Yuusuke started to panic. Kurama released his accupoints and let Yuusuke run. "Go as far as you want, Yuusuke, but you'll never be able to fight again."

Kurama crumbled to the ground and looked at Kuwabara.

Too late.

****************

Yuusuke stumbled into a old, desolate warehouse, his Reiki still strong, but unable to be used anymore. He cursed vilely under his breath as he tried to find materials he could use to bind around his wounds.

"Puu?" A blue, little penguin-like animal strutted up to Yuusuke as it stroked against his hand gently. Yuusuke smiles back and petted Puu on the head.

"So you are still with me after all the world's turned against me."

Puu just gave its usual innocent look as Yuusuke picked it up and cradled it in his arms.

"Show me your true form now, Puu," Yuusuke grinned in anticipation.

Puu stared at Yuusuke for a moment, and hopped out of his arms onto the cement floor of the spacious warehouse. It turned into a huge phoenix-like creature, but instead of its usual narrow eyes, it had large, almond shaped, liquid black eyes. Its black-feathered body ended with a scaly, metallic blue tail, armed with spikes at the tip. Its beak became more sharpened and longer. Puu looked at Yuusuke, as if telling him there's more. Puu gave a loud screech and the roof of the warehouse collapsed. Yuusuke covered his ears, and at the same time, realized that it had been raining the whole time he was here as the rain poured in on him through the now open-air warehouse.

Then it stopped. A slimy, black wing was extended to shelter Yuusuke from the drops of water. There were claws as well. At each end of its wings. Yuusuke looked up a little and saw the full form of Puu, wings spread and eyes fierce, claws extended and ready to rip anyone apart.

Upon second thought, it reminded Yuusuke of a crossbreed between a dragon and a bat. Probably because it was furry and scaly.

Both master and clone smiled knowingly at each other, full of closeness and warmth for a full minute before Yuusuke got to a sheltered part of the warehouse to start work.

Forgive me if it's unpolished...hadn't had mush time to go through it.

Lots of thanks to YuChan for letting me use that evil Puu idea, as well as Kim-san for giving my a trial membership.

C & Cs are very welcome.

But please do not comment about the title yet because the meaning of the title hasn't been typed out in these past four chapters.^-^
