| Look at the map below and the darker highlighted state in the center is Maryland. We border the Atlantic Ocean, and have the Chesapeake Bay nearly cutting us in half. If you look to the left on the map, you will see a hunk of Maryland's property which is nearly swallowed up by West Virginia and Pennsylvania. This is called Western Maryland. Western Maryland is made of up mountians, called the Appalachian Mountains, so skiing and stuff like that happen here. If you look to the right, you will see part of Maryland's property right on the Atlantic Ocean. This is called Ocean City. Here, people swim and have summertime fun. If you look in the center of the state, you will see all the land that borders the Chesapeake Bay. The bay is a great place for boating, fishing, and having even more fun. We are the best state in the Nation, because we have Mountains, Oceans, Bays, Rivers, Hills, Cities, and Farm land. And lucky us, we are right next to Washington DC. And God pays us back for all the fun by giving us enormously high cancer rates. But it's all good. |
