The original plan
On the evening of Friday 15th November, guiders start flooding into Netherurd, having been driving through the lovely Scottish countryside (also called "getting lost") for a number of hours.  They settle in to the Brownie House, fighting worse than brownies over who gets the top bunk.  Eventually food is cooked and eaten, faces put to names, and the talk goes on until the early hours, with maybe a few songs here and there.

Saturday morning arrives with typically gorgeous Scottish weather (!) and the guiders are found out and about - throwing large poles around (also known as pioneering), following trails (another name for getting lost), and shooting spiky things at each other (also called archery).  A few of the more peaceful souls are crafting away... and thus passes the day.

Towards the evening the haggis hunt begins but the little so-and-so can't be found anywhere.  As the darkness descends even the hardiest of souls retreat to the house and the sound of song echoes round the hill (even though it's not in tune).

On Sunday the house miraculously cleans itself (it must have been the Boguk) and those with homes to go to start dispersing.  The rest of us just keep talking... after all, it's not long 'til Christmas!
