BACK Nick, let her go.

No.  Not this time.  I didnt fight for her last time and she showed back up.  That can only happen so many times.  I have to fight for her this time.  No one is taking her away, even if Kara is the one trying to take herself away.

Her green eyes became bigger as I looked down at her.

Whats going on Kara?

I felt the tears come back to my eyes as Steve jumped at me, pulling me off of her.
*
Theres a bag by yours.  Its the clothes Nick bought you earlier.

Still lying on the bed, I blinked at the bright light that had been hidden behind Nicks frame.  Slowly, I climbed from the bed.

Kara where are you

Dont make this any harder Nick.  I cant stay.  Id hurt you.  You have your career.   I just

I have to let go.

Again.

*
Running a hand through her hair, she stared at me, tears gleaming in her eyes.

Dont go.  Please.  Ill do anything.

Just dont leave me again.

I tried to fight against Steves hold on me, only causing him to grip my arms tighter.

Kara rushed over to us, stood on her toes, and kissed me.

You cant leave now.  You kissed me when they were trying to get you to leave.  That means you give in.  That means you stay.  That means I win.

Except this isnt a videogame.

Pulling away, she caressed my face, blinking back tears.

Im sorry Nick.  I have to.

No you dont!
*
Walk out of the room Kara.

Now.

Why wasnt this as hard last time?

Pulling my concrete feet off the floor, I slowly backed out of the door into the other room.  As soon as he was out of view, a little more momentum came to my movements.  Grabbing my bag, I flung it over my shoulder, subsequently digging through it as I heard yelling in the other room.
*

Goddamn it Steve, if you dont let me go right now

Nick, I cant.

Right as there was hope of me breaking loose, he gained a better grip on my arm and pinned me against the wall.

Let her go.

No!
*
Reaching the front of the bus, both bags and my jacket in tow, I heard yelling and what sounded like punches not making there intended targets.

Oh god.  Ive only been here for a day and Ive already caused trouble.

Get out Kara.  Get out now.

Bounding down the stairs, I pushed open the folding doors and rushed onto the pavement, praying that Xander and the other guys were already here.

*
Please Steve, let me go.

The tears started pouring from my eyes.

I dont fucking care anymore.

I love her.

His grip lessened on my shoulders, where hed pinned me against another wall after Id punched him.  After a few missed shots.

You dont know her Nick.

But he let me go.
*
A car horn honked.  Across the street.

Spinning around, I saw Trevors midnight blue SUV parked on the other side of the access road.  The wind struck my skin, making my teeth chatter as tiny drops of water fell from above me.

Rain?  When in hell did it start raining?

Evidently while I was preoccupied in Nick.

*
Letting me loose and letting me go after Kara are two different things.  Steve decided to prove that to me.

Before I had a chance to react to being let go, Steve rushed towards the front of the door.  Stupid me thinking hes going to bring Kara back.

Running after him, I reached the front of the bus in time to see Kara start to jog across the street and watch Steve lock the doors.

Nick let her go.
*
Trevor flung opened the passenger side door, revealing Xander and Toby in the back seat waiting for me.

Reaching the other side of the street, I threw my bags into the floorboard and tried to catch my breath before climbing in.

*
Running back to the middle of the bus, I flung myself onto one of the couches, flinging opened one of the windows and sticking my head out.

KARA!

Spinning around, she stared at me, a look of complete hopelessness covering her face.

Its like one of those movies where the Nazis come and steal the love of the lead guys life and its raining and the guy is screaming for her to come back, but its hopeless.

Its just like that.

Except there are no Nazis.  And the love of my life is going on her own accord.
