| Prologue The Tampa Daily News Thursday May 13, 2005 by Susan Withersby Shock and worry surround the air around the Tampa General Hospital today. Many, including hordes of sad teenage fans, wait to hear news coming from the recovery room of one pop star named Nick Carter. Carter entered the hospital on Tuesday to go under evaluation for nodes that had formed around his throat and vocal chords from excess strain on them over the years. He later learned that the nodes would require surgery. Doctors informed Carter that it could be done immediately the next day in hopes for a sooner recovery so that the young star could be on the road again finishing his latest solo tour. Alarm was caused when the doctors found more excess tissue and mass when in surgery causing them to have to cut away more and ultimately causing some damage to his golden vocal chords. Word from the doctors suggest that he is in fact able to speak in small amounts, but there is not much hope for him to gain back the singing capabilities for him to sing like he once did. Doctors and family memebrs are also asking that anymore flowers and gifts sent to Carter would please be sent to the Children's Ward of the hopital. |
