Then into plain weirdness! Thelma is in the dining hall looking at the statue she was staring at last week, then David Tyrel is there singing, and we�re in some crazy 1920s lounge bar setup or something�Jo is there, kissing another woman (remember that, I think its significant)�Cassie is there, with Azazeal. It�s all very odd. Then back in their room, Cassie still has the manky eyes, she�s being really weird�sitting there smoking, there�s a lot of tension between her and Thelma, who knows she�s possessed. Next morning its Christmas season in Medenham, and Cassie is being really bitchy to everyone, but mostly Troy. At another party that night, (it always looks like the same club...not sure if its supposed to be or not, some of the crowd shots in episode one were actually reused in episode two, good production values there!) she sees Azazeal�he tries to argue that this whole thing between them is meant to be, and that she should give in to the inevitable. We also learn that he had some �good times� with her mother! Thelma, wandering around the corridors of the school, unlocks the snack machine (seems she has a key) to get some more crisps. But then she�s sees a woman from her weird dream world walk past, and hears the music again. But nothing more comes of it just yet. Next day around school, nothing much interesting happens�we learn that Jo has just split up with her boyfriend, which could be significant but probably not, and also a bit of Cassie-commentary from Roxanne, �a few days ago she was this hapless virgin but now she�s a total whore� but its not until the evening that the interesting stuff happens� In a game of truth or dare (in which we learn that Troy would rather have a hairy back than a small penis, and Leon once slept with his mother�s 54 year old friend) Cassie is dared to �pick a victim and put one of your body parts into theirs.� Approaching Troy teasingly, she turns to Leon�first putting her finger in his mouth seductively, then they kiss�much to Troy�s upset, who then walks out, bringing an end to the gathering. Cassie is waiting for Leon in the hallway however, and after a quick game of hide and seek in the showers, things are getting pretty interesting before Thelma (who has been watching in shock) turns on all the cold taps, sending boiling hot water over Cassie and Leon, who run out. Cassie makes specific emphasis on needing to see Leon�s eyes�is she trying to transfer the caterpillar thingie as presumably it was transferred from Troy to her? There�s no real development there, just me speculating. And then into the first commercial break of the night�a lot has happened in the first half tho! After the break, Thelma is sitting in the toilet on the phone�.to who? Herself? The speaking clock? Who knows!! The conversation somehow leads her (probably just talking to herself) that she needs to electrocute Cassie�that�s how to stop the possession. She then however sees her dream woman walking past again�the one that Jo was kissing�she follows her into a room, where she finds her studying an Egyptian inscription. The woman�s name is Peggy�her father used to own the house, but she died of flu in 1923�Thelma can touch her btw, and that�s why I said the kiss earlier was significant� Seems Peggy prefers the ladies, and Cassie makes some comments about it being a shame Thelma will never find anyone�perhaps she will settle down in ghost world with Peggy? Anyway she�s investigating this inscription, which contains the word �Azazeal�, which has her stumped�Thelma thinks she can help! Later in the hallway, as everyone is leaving for Christmas holidays (we�ve already learnt Cassie is staying here btw, as is Jo), Leon convinces Troy that he needs to break up with Cassie�so basically he does, her being as bitchy as ever about it. Back in their room Thelma is working on the plug socket, no doubt trying to electrocute Cassie. Plugging her hair dryer in blows power to the building, but she�s still unharmed, and her eyes are still manky. She wakes up later to find Azazeal watching her again� After a bit more tension with Troy, Cassie confesses to Thelma that she has been seeing Azazeal, and maybe he�s not that bad��Oh yes, he meant the knife to miss me� is her reply, not surprisingly! Back at the club, sporting a particularly stupid looking hair style, Cassie meets up with Azazeal again�then suddenly they�re back at school kissing up against the lockers, then hiding from Jo as she walks past. Just before the next break, we see Cassie and Azazeal stripping each other and ending up half naked on the bed. Whether anything happens or not is left to your imagination� After the break, where Cassie wakes up in her bed alone, Jo happens upon Azazeal in the grounds outside, and they engage in some minor flirting. This is where the fact she�s newly single could be significant, it could lead to something next week, but I doubt it really. Cassie (wearing the pendant) approaches the Canari�but for some reason touching it does nothing. Is it because she�s possessed, or does the pendent block that aspect of her powers as well? Later in the laundrette, Thelma makes another attempt to electrocute her by dropping the iron in a big puddle of water�but Cassie is on to her and stops the iron from hitting the ground with her powers� Upon further research with Peggy, it is revealed that Azazeal served as a priest to an Egyptian Pharaoh, and had an affair with his daughter Heraph. Something there about vengeance resulting in the living walking with the dead (like us you mean? Thelma asks, I�m a little foggy on that bit, I�ll watch again and try to clarify in the Demonology section), and Heraph, who was carrying his child, is buried alive. Finally an electrocution attempt succeeds. Kindof. Wiring the lockers into the mains, Thelma hopes that when Cassie puts in her key, she�ll get electrocuted. It doesn�t quite work. Cassie�s key is fine, but the girl with the next door locker approaches, puts in her key and is severely electrocuted�trying to help, Cassie grabs hold of her, and of course the current runs through them both, leaving them unconscious, and the other girl being carted off in an ambulance. Cassie is left with the �worst hangover in the world�, (and for a bit more on the after effects of possession, check out the Demonology section again). Suffice to say, Cassie is now fine, and apologises to Thelma for being the �ultimate cow.� Back in her room for the night, Azazeal is suddenly there again. No longer possessed she wants nothing more to do with him. �Just because your rational mind has pulled away,� he taunts, �does not mean your heart has changed.� One more episode to go�what will happen in the showdown between Cassie and Azazeal, and will anyone survive it??
