Journal 5
Do I think hypno birthing worked for me? Absolutely. I believe that what I learned from hypno birthing kept me focused and calm during pretty much 2 days of early labor and a whole day of active labor. I am personally proud of myself, I think I held it together very well despite the amount of discomfort I was feeling, I mean it was pretty bad there that last hour or so, very tough. So there you have it Seths birth story.

Seths first week home
Well the first week was pretty chaotic getting used to being the mommy to a newborn all over again. Very tiring and draining to say the least, but this little guy is worth it. The first week was very hard getting accustomed to breastfeeding, very hardup feeding every 2 hours, extremely engorged breasts (ouch), sore nipples definitely no fun I tell ya! Seth is a very good baby though, he only fusses when he is hungry and has a dirty diaper. And he is super cute and has a personality already. Seth loves his boppy and naps for quite a while in it, Boppys rule! I highly suggest one for any new parent

Seths second week home
Breastfeeding is a lot better this week. My breasts feel better and I am producing a good steady milk supply. Seth is opening his eyes more and looking around with awake periods 1-2x a day for good 30 min- 1 hour stretches. He is absolutely adorable and amazing. I still cant believe he is here and all ours to love and nurture. Seth has been sleeping next to me in bed (I know I said I wouldnt do it) but I cant help it, I am just so paranoid, you would think I never had a baby before or something. I still put Seth in his crib though for naps and in the middle of the night I put him in his crib too, its just that first initial going to bed time that I yearn to have him in bed with meI guess I will be taking baby steps to wean myself from Seth sleeping next to meSeth has started to be a little more fussy this week. I can hear his tummy making all sorts of loud grumbling noises, I am pretty sure he has pretty bad gas AKA colic. I am thinking of maybe giving him bottles with soy formula in between expressed breast milk bottles in a couple of weeks to see if maybe that will alleviate some of his gas, since I cant seem to figure out what in my diet is giving him gas and I hate to see him in so much discomfort. Seth lost his umbilical cord this week and had his first bath he HATED it and screamed bloody murder! Steve and I tried bathing him 2 more times and he screamed even louder each time so we decided to try the shower, Seth loves showering he doesnt cry at all the only time he cries is when you take him out of the shower. So that has become the nightly routine, Seth gets a shower with mommy or daddy instead of a bath. We tried the baby carrier this week Seth rode in it a bit, he seems to like it. We have him ride in it at least once a day to get him used to it as we want to use it more with him when we go out on outings

Seths third week home
Seth is awake more this week he is a very curious little guy and very nosy. Seth loves his swing, he coos and looks at the swing mobile in awe and then eventually drifts off to sleepHe also finds his bouncer very soothing and he will doze of in it occasionally and sleep a good stretch. Seth is smiling some this week, I cant wait until he smiles all the time. I am getting better with the sleeping situation I have been forcing myself to put Seth to bed in his crib every night, I only slip and let him sleep next to me every once in awhile. The good thing is that Seth is content sleeping next to me and sleeping in his crib or sleeping anywhere really, so thats a good thing that means I havent spoiled him by putting him in bed with me every now and then like I feared.
