| Long-tailed Grass Lizard Takydromus sexlineatus |
| ~Range) Southeast Asia ~Description) This lizard reaches a length of about 8-12in, which is mostly tail. They tend to be brown in color with stripes going the entire length of the lizard. Some may even have shades of green on them or small spots. *Remember, never grab this lizard by the tail as you may cause the long delicate tail to break off. ~Care) I recommend to house these lizards in no less than a 20 gallon aquarium. They are quite active so the extra space is greatly appreciated. Bark or soil is recommended as a substrate with lots of branches and plants for the lizard to climb on. A shallow water dish should be provided and I recommend misting these lizards daily. ~Temperature) A recommended daytime temperature for this lizard is 75-85 F with a basking area reaching a temperature of 90-95 F. I recommend using only a dome fixture with a heat bulb and not a heat rock for heat as well as providing sunlight with a full spectrum UVA UVB light. ~Feeding) I recommend feeding these lizards small crickets and occationaly waxworms dusted with a vitamin/mineral supplement. back |
