| When using vitamin supplements to help a reptile receive all the nutrients it needs you should make sure you are using the right type. It has been found that combining vitamins and minerals together in a powder form causes them to slowly degrade each other, causing them to be less effective. I recommend alternating between a mineral supplement and a vitamin supplement every other feeding to ensure your reptile or amphibian is getting all the nutrients that it needs. Some supplements are specially stabilized so that this degrading is extremely reduced and if stored properly, is totally effective. Some brands of vitamin or mineral supplements I recommend are Minerall, Nekton, T-rex Bone Aid Microstick Powder, as well as the exoterra line of liquid vitamins and minerals. Recommended doses: Juveniles: dust feeder insects every feeding Gravid females and young adults: every other feeding Adults: every third feeding back |
