| The Twelve returned have cured and proclaiming the good news. As they were together Jesus asked them,"Who do the people in Galilee say that I am?" They said in reply, John the Baptist alive again, others, Elijah, still others, Jerimiah or Ezekiel." Jesus said,"And who do you say that I am?" They all were silent when Simon Peter said," I say your are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. | |||||||||||||

| Jesus then said to Simon Peter,"In saying that Simon bar Jonah, are blessed among men for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, it is from my Father in heaven. So now I will call you Peter, the rock. On this rock I will build my church, the gates of hell will not prevail against it. To you I give the keys, to the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 16:13-20) |

| Then Jesus said," To you all I tell you this, Peter has spoken the truth, and now you know it. But you must not reaveal it to anyone. My time is not yet come. But another time is coming, the time for me to go to Jerusalem." | |||||||||||||

| "In Jerusalem the Son of Man will be rejected by the chief priests and the elders of the temple. He will be condemned. They will hand him over to the unbelievers who will scourge Him, mock him, and put Him to death. Then after 3 days He will rise agian. (Matthew 20:17-19) |
