Riding the wild High Steppe's and doing mostly as she pleased, the girl had no knowledge of evil. Then came Jarg. entering the Hold as Friend and sharing the warlord Reen's table , he was made welcome. Through treachery the Hold fell. all but Guen were tortured and killed, most in front of her. Ravished, throw out into the tender mercy of a High Steppe Winter, she survived. Later a family friend taught her to parley her talent into a business. Guen became reknowned as a horse trainer and trader. She was also soughtr after as a Healer and Dream Weaver. Life went on, but deep in the background of her dreams a tendril of power waited. Raza-A gift to the gentle Lady Guen by her Valken uncle Tor, Raza was a Sight Hound. The huge hound was covered in long silken hair and had shining silver eyes. When she stood and placed paws on the shoulders of a tall man , she could easily look him in the eyes. The Hounds were a rarity , coming from the Far Icelands, and little was know of their ways other than their gift of empathy. Raza loved Guen and shadowed her every step. The great stallion Hai'nn and Raza were all that survived of Guen's past. There were mysteries about Raz that swirled around her in Guen's Dreaming. Yet on the surface, naught was evident. The one weakness in the Great Hound was her fondness fpr a certain scruffy wolf , names Rulf, lost now in a high pass on Dragonback. BRAN / B'VERE Orphaned and abandoned, Bran was one of the stray's that Guen brought home. Her friend Sera at the Dragon's Inn made room for him and he was well on his way to becoming a gangly red headed young man-and a right good stablemaster! His true dream though , was to accompany the Lady Guen on one of her many adventures. How little did he guess.... TA'LAR Guen came across Tal in the ruins of a burnt out Elven Cortege. Wild eyed and full of fury , the young elf was blindly swinging an over large sword at any and all comers-Guen Dream Sang him to sleep and then when he had calmed suggested that he allow her to care for him until such time as he could reach family or friends and go home. The young one went with Guen , all the time vowing revenge on Jarg-for Jarg it was who had done this harm , too. So bent on revenge was the child that he searched constantly for a way to accomplish it. Even to the point of taking up with a most Obnoxious young elf ( ah-Lord? )and leaving on his quest. The combination was devastating for the world around these two, even with the machinations of old Bittea , working to keep them safe... |
