Thailand
Go Back to Hennyworld
Thailand was the most different country from our expectations . It was more Western, yet distinctly not; a city but with beaches everywhere; a sex-based culture coexisting with the Buddhist Religion.

We flew into
Bangkok and were immediately in the heat, smells and sounds of the city. I call it the Bangkok Perfume.

In Bangkok anything is possible. We witnessed the ancient tradition of the making of the
Monk's Alms Bowls, also known as Kaat; visited the Thai Temples in the city; saw a movie in the VIP Lounges in Siam Square; and of course absorbed the constant energy surrounding Sumkuvit District.

After all this city life, we needed to make our way South to the beaches. We stayed on one island,
Ko Pha-Ngan, for 2 weeks. On this island there were various beaches and places to explore including Ao Thong Nao Pan Yai (easy to pronounce) and Ko Ma. That is why people call them names like Bottle Beach.
